If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. Winter is here, and, with it, we’re all realizing once again just how important shoulder bags are — at a time when most everything else in our daily ensembles shuns aesthetics in favor of practicality (read: insulation). The best designer shoulder bags, whether prim-and-proper or boho-chic and slouchy, are a fashion set go-to regardless of the time of year, though: used as daily commuter bags, handy haulers for weekend adventures, or the cherries on top of chic date-night ‘fits. A worth-every-penny shoulder bag allows its wearer to go hands-free, perching on their shoulder without adding weight to their walk. But not every luxury shoulder bag is meant to be a daytime catchall for all manner of tchotchkes. The most precious of purses (you’ll find some crowd-pleasing options below) are to be whipped out exclusively for fancier occasions, completing your outfit equations when you’re headed to the opera, say. Styles like Alaïa’s perennially popular Le Teckel and Jil Sander’s Cannolo make the case for owning a few high-end slingers that you’ll have to be selective about in terms of wear: letting the purchases

Lee Jun-ho Is the Gift That Keeps Giving

Lee Jun-ho celebrated his birthday earlier this week by offering his fans a gift: a new single. “So far it seems like the fans are really, really enjoying it,” he says of “Four Seasons (Always),” which he released on Monday. He debuted the ballad live during his two-day fan meeting “Stunning Us,” where he performed and shared anecdotes from his recent acting projects.  “My fan meeting was also a birthday party,” says the performer, who uses the mononym Junho, who turned 36 on Sunday. “So the highlight was being able to celebrate my birthday with four to five thousand of my fans.” It’s morning in Seoul, a couple days after the release, and the actor-musician is sipping an iced Starbucks drink from his office at O3 Collective, the creative agency that he founded last summer. A week earlier, he was in Paris to attend a cocktail party celebrating Berluti’s new men’s collection and campaign during Fashion Week.  “As their ambassador, I spent some valuable time learning about the brand’s history, its origins as well as some of their deeply meaningful stories,” he says. “Even though it was a short trip, I had a very fulfilling experience.” Junho at an event for Berluti during Paris Fashion

Margot Robbie Embraces Drama in Custom Schiaparelli for ‘Wuthering Heights’ Premiere

Margot Robbie channeled the aesthetic qualities and visual language of “Wuthering Heights” in a custom look by Schiaparelli for the film’s Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday night. The Oscar-nominated actress evoked romance, passion and drama, as the French luxury fashion house intended with the custom look. The bustier gown, by couturier and Schiaparelli artist director Daniel Roseberry, was designed with a corset top in a nude jersey and black chantilly lace overlay adorned with gold metal eyelets at the back, per Schiaparelli. If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. While everyone deserves the occasional luxury beauty splurge, true makeup lovers know that affordable products are just as deserving of top-shelf space in your bathroom: with drugstore mascaras, in particular, being the heavyweight champions of this category. The best drugstore mascaras of 2026, which for the most part top off around $20, come in an abundance of cutting-edge formulas that lengthen and lift the lashes. These days, you can also find completely vegan and clean mascaras from brands like CoverGirl that don’t skimp on the drama, and the market is similarly chock-full of tubing mascaras — trending in the makeup world as we speak — that grant covetable results while going easy on your wallet. One thing to note before embarking on your drugstore mascara quest? Not all tubes are created equal. “Think about what you want the finish to look like and what your goals are for your lashes,” advises celebrity makeup artist Katie Mellinger, who’s painted the faces of A-listers like Sofia Coppola, Chloë Sevigny, and Emma Watson. “For example, L’Oreal Paris’ Voluminous Original Mascara is going to build a lot of

Name: Iliza Shlesinger Notable past credits: The stand-up comic, who won “Last Comic Standing” in 2008, is known for “The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show,” six comedy specials for Netflix, and the late-night talk show “Truth & Iliza.” Sundance Project: “Chasing Summer,” which she wrote and stars in, directed by Josephine Decker and costarring Garrett Wareing, Lola Tung, Cassidy Freeman, Tom Welling and Megan Mullally.  “It was really a labor of love, and it’s so special to get to share it with all these people that we basically had summer camp with for 19 days this summer in St. Louis,” Shlesinger says of the film, which follows a woman who returns to her hometown after a breakup and losing her job and reunites with friends and former love interests from her past. Shlesinger came up with the idea in 2018, and sent herself an email at the time with the concept.  “The email was something along the lines of what if high school came back to get you and what if, and I don’t want to give anything away in this, but it was basically about getting to relive that last summer that we’ve all had right after you graduate high school,” she says, “and how

He also starred in Bo Burnham’s “Eighth Grade” and led the Safdie brothers-produced “Funny Pages,” which was directed by Owen Kline and premiered at Cannes in 2022. But it’s presented in a very nondramatic way that feels close to real life.” Zolghadri signed on a year before filming, and credits scene partner Lubna Azabal for helping carry the emotional weight of the film as his onscreen mother, navigating her son’s high school expulsion. The pair navigate a mild friction that simmers throughout the road trip. ”There are moments where they connect or learn something new about each other. And then there’s moments where they almost connect, and kind of miss each other,”

The 10 Best Winter Sneakers That Will Keep You Active This Season (Yes, Even During a Record-Breaking Snowstorm)

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. For a set of winter sneakers to be truly great (and subsequently worth your money), it needs to mirror that famous mail-carrier motto — delivering results in the rain, snow, sleet, and gloom of night. Considering the rapid clip at which footwear innovation has progressed, the odds are good that there’s already a winter-ready version of your favorite shoe, just beckoning you to buy it for the next few months of winter. And if this isn’t the case, a myriad of top options from major brands like Nike, On, adidas, and Canada Goose are also here for the taking: amped up with technical materials without ever sacrificing streamlined looks and all-day wearability. The bitter cold (akin to the freezing temperatures, alongside snow and ice, that are set to hit over 160 million people across the U.S. this weekend) can severely damage most pairs of running sneakers, leaving them stained, soggy, and completely ruined. While we love a good pair of beaters, there’s nothing fun about leaving them out to dry all night, only to wake up the next morning failing to

Giving Black Roses Could Make You a Trendsetter This Valentine’s Day, According to Latest Report

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. Think Valentine’s Day this year will involve the same old, same old symbols of romance — like dozens of red roses, chocolates housed in heart-shaped boxes, and fluffy teddy bears? Think again. One of our editors’ favorite online floral delivery destinations, 1-800-Flowers, just cut the ribbon on its Valentine’s Day 2026 trends report… and what you’ll find inside is not at all what you’d expect. The most surprising reveal of all? The fact that black (not pink, white, or even purple) is the colorway of choice for rose purchases right about now, with 1-800-Flowers sharing that “searches for black roses jumped 50 percent compared to the yearly average.” We’d like to think of this as a sign that consumers are starting to think outside the box when it comes to their holiday shopping habits. In other words: Less “whiskey stones” and more “luxury decanter” in the realm of boyfriend gifts on Valentine’s Day, as well as unpredictable color schemes, dominated by black of all things, for what you put on her nightstand the morning of February 14. Luckily, black roses (which, in 1-800-Flowers’

Yes, Everyone Is Playing Mahjong Right Now — These Sets From Brands Like Prada & Ralph Lauren Will Get You a Winning (and Stylish) Hand

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. Analog activities — you know, the types Grandma might have proposed as a form of entertainment when you were staying over as a child — are trending in 2026, especially amongst the Millennial and Gen Z generations. Viewed as an antidote against the soul-sucking doomscroll (akin to the function “dumb phones” have right about now) “grandma hobbies” saw a 525-percent spike in interest from January 13 to January 15, 2026, according to Google Trends. On TikTok, people are turning to, and documenting their experiences with, puzzles, needlepoint, watercolor, mahjong, and similar pursuits. One thing’s clear: We’re fatigued by the endless news cycle, disillusioned with the state of social media as it stands, and want to collectively self-soothe with something that requires patience, using our hands, and emptying our minds of the nonessentials. On the note of mahjong, the tradition-laden game’s uptick has been one of the most surprising results of this renewed penchant for analog hobbies. A classic Chinese game dating back to the 19th century, it was originally played with bone or ivory tiles. Per Britannica, the name translates to “sparrow,”

Naomi Osaka stepped up to the service line in a custom Nike and Robert Wun tennis kit for her first round match at the 2026 Australian Open on Tuesday in Melbourne, Australia. The four-time grand slam champion defeated Antonia Ružić of Croatia in a three-set battle. Osaka turned to her longtime partner Nike for this sea-inspired look, with nods to a previous Australian Open showing. The athlete’s tennis kit consisted of a turquoise tie-dye and green racerback tennis dress. Osaka’s grand entrance for her first round also featured dramatic elements, including a white, wide-brim hat with a sheer veil. Naomi Osaka Getty Images Tiered palazzo pants featured beneath the hemline of her turquoise tennis dress, with pleating throughout. Osaka also carried a white umbrella with varying panel proportions. During her on-court warm-ups, Osaka donned a zip-up jacket with organic, wavy tendrils hanging from the sleeves. 2016 Mania Has Arrived — Here Are 5 Fashion Trends From the Era That Are Actually Worth Reviving

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. At one point, it was common knowledge that trends — especially those in the universe of fashion — came back every two decades. Now, that length of time has been shortened to 10 years, what with the boom of all things 2016-coded in 2026. Since turning their calendars to the Year of the Horse, people have been obsessed with trying to resuscitate the age of the Mannequin Challenge and the fidget spinner. Outlets report that searches for the term “2016” surged by over 400 percent in the first month of this year, with both everyday sentimentalists and celebrities digging up the archives to find authentic representations of themselves from the time. This phenomenon has been brewing for a while, though. On social media, millions of users have been collectively expressing the notion that 2016 was the last good year. It was the year of the world’s initial acquaintance with “Stranger Things”; car stereos blasting The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” on repeat; platforms like Vine and Musical.ly exploding in popularity; the Rio Olympic Games; Instagram’s then-new Stories feature; and Leonardo DiCaprio’s first Oscar win.

Isa Briones Dives Deep on Season Two of ‘The Pitt’

When the first season of “The Pitt” came out last January, Isa Briones and the rest of the cast had no idea what to expect.  “We knew it was good. We were aware of ‘OK, we’re making something very good,’ but sometimes that doesn’t mean anything,” Briones says. “And there are plenty of good shows out there that don’t get watched and it’s because of so many different factors. But this really connected with people, which is amazing.” The show was picked up for a second season, which they were in the midst of filming when the 2025 Emmys took place — and the show cleaned up, taking home the prize for Outstanding Drama series, as well as acting awards for Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa. Isa Briones Sela Shiloni/WWD “You kind of never get a chance to sit in it without being in it, which I think is kind of good because then you can’t really focus too much on the exterior,” Briones says. “As amazing as awards are, you can’t base all of your worth on it because you’re just like, ‘I’m still working. I need to do the thing.’ And I think it makes for a better environment for us to just

Kate Middleton channeled her fiery side in a red McQueen power suiting look during a reception hosting England’s women’s rugby team, the Red Roses, at Windsor Castle in Windsor, England, on Thursday, following the team’s World Cup victory last September. The Princess of Wales wore a McQueen suit in a vivid red tone, pairing a drop-hem tailored jacket with coordinating bootcut trousers. Ariana Grande Goes Archival in Vivienne Westwood on the AFI Awards Red Carpet 2026

Ariana Grande went back into the archives and added a touch of pared back method dressing in a vintage Vivienne Westwood look for the 2026 AFI Awards on Friday in Los Angeles. Styled by Law Roach, the “Wicked: For Good” star wore a strapless lace dusty pink ensemble, with a formfitting bodice with slight corsetry and a full skirt with gathered fabric, creating a midi hemline and fuller aesthetic overall. The look’s pink tone was a slight reference to Grande’s “Wicked” character, Glinda. Ariana Grande at the 2026 AFI Awards on Jan. 9 in Los Angeles. The ensemble was complemented by Grande’s pointed toe cream heels. As for accessories, Grande kept her look simple, favoring a pair of stud earrings courtesy of Swarovski, a brand with which the Oscar nominated “Wicked” star shares a collaborative relationship. Grande was named an ambassador to the Austrian jewelry manufacturer in July 2024, and previously starred in the 2024 holiday campaign as well as the 2025 1960s-inspired spring campaign. If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. Winter isn’t coming: It’s here. That being said, you’re likely buried under layers of puffer jackets, fleeces, and wool coats these days (maybe even while you’re reading this), and so accessories like bags might be the only way to add personality to your otherwise practical, cold-weather garb. Considering their pivotal role in shaping your seasonal aesthetic, handbags function as some of the best investments to make this time of year. Amidst a booming market of affordable handbag brands in 2026, Quince (who says it keeps prices low by “avoid[ing] the expenses of the traditional supply chain”) always takes the cake when it comes to premium quality and luxury-level designs. The brand — an editor go-to — is living proof of the fact that your wallet doesn’t have to wilt in the name of style, making it a rare bird in the industry. Holding its own against the luxury handbags of the world, Quince also maintains a firm commitment to ethics and sustainability. We truly see no flaws. The truth is, there’s hardly a Quince handbag that clocks in above $200 (even its

The 8 Best Makeup Brush Sets of 2026 for Every Level of Mastery

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. An artist is only as good as their tools — and yes, that includes makeup artists. The right portfolio of brushes can make all the difference, which is why investing in one of the best makeup brush sets on the market will pay dividends if you’re looking for a polished, pro-level finish. According to Danielle Kimiko Vincent, celebrity makeup artist, brow expert, and founder of Kimiko Beauty, everyone — from beginner makeup moguls to celebrity MUAs — can squeeze much use out of a complete set of the essential types of makeup brushes. “I love a good brush set because it can encourage you to start experimenting with new techniques that you might not have otherwise considered,” Vincent explains. “For example, an angled eyeshadow brush can be used in many more ways than a standard flat brush. You might learn to create a color wash with the wide section of the brush, and then use the narrow side to create an accent with a darker color.” It also helps that there’s “usually a price break,” when you opt to purchase an entire set
