Awards Show Season Has Hard Launched the Women’s Hair Bows Trend for 2024

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. Wrap it up with a bow. That seems to be the reigning thought for celebrity hairstylists for the 2024 award show season, where we’ve seen hair bows for women perch on ponytails and bedeck textured buns up and down the red carpets. Whether it’s a repurposed ribbon or structured velvet, one thing is clear: We’ll be wearing bows in our hair in 2024. As for the way you wear them, a quick look at recent red carpets shows us that it’s entirely up to you. Take the Golden Globes for example. Kate Beckinsale’s Barbie-style ponytail featured a smattering of miniature bows; a look created by hairstylist Scott King. For an understated, elegant effect, hairstylist Bridget Brager situated a bow snugly under Allison Williams’ textured updo. Hairstylist Brian Fisher aimed high with Zoe Lister-Jones’ look, fixing a big silky bow at the peak of the actress and filmmaker’s pulled-back bob, a flourish that balanced out the asymmetrical neckline and pattern of her Magda Butrym dress. Others took their hair bows in a bold direction. Hairstylist Danielle Priano placed a cardinal red

Laverne Cox wore an archival look from Mugler’s spring 1989 “Les Atlantes” collection on the Emmy Awards 2023 red carpet in Los Angeles on Monday. Laverne Cox The top, a bustier-style corset, features cups, boning and a concealed hook-and-eye closure. The corresponding skirt features a floor-length, skin-tight pencil silhouette made from the same material and dyed the same jet-black hue. Mugler’s entire spring 1989 collection featured futuristic elements similar to those shown in Cox’s ensemble. Details like chromatic colorways, fin-like textural elements and high-contrast angular edges were implemented into the looks for an “out-of-this-world” aesthetic. Keeping the model’s appearance consistent with the nature of the garments, selective makeup looks used bold colors, three-dimensional appliqués and heavy contouring. Mugler’s spring 1989 “Les Atlantes” collection. Cox is a well-known fan of Mugler, having even attended several of the brand’s fashion shows dressed head-to-toe in pieces from previous collections. On Nov. 15, the actress attended the opening of the “Thierry Mugler: Couturissime” exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum in New York in an all-black sculptural Mugler look. What Is Skinvive by Juvederm? The New Injectable Treatment Explained

Vitamin C serums, bronzer and eight glasses of water a day may not be the only ways to achieve glowing skin from within. There’s a new product on the market that claims to be a shortcut: Skinvive — a new injectable moisturizer from the Juvederm family that is meant to amplify radiance around the face. The aesthetic treatment, which made its commercial debut in September, is designed to enhance cheek smoothness through thin hyaluronic acid injections that attract water to the face without adding volume. The launch came at an auspicious time ahead of the often dry-skin winter season. Social media reactions to Skinvive peaked in November across Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube, according to Comscore. Parent company Allergan Aesthetics said the response to the product exceeded expectations within the first three months. “We have surpassed our sales goal by nearly double,” a representative for the brand said. The product’s development began in 2017 in Europe and 2018 in the U.S. after feedback from aesthetic providers who were looking for something to mitigate skin dullness on the cheeks. A patient before, left, and after treatment with Skinvive. “Before Skinvive was created we were able to put hyaluronic acid and some moisturizer on the outside
