Online Returns Reduced With AI-powered Virtual Fitting Room

Fytted recently launched its virtual fitting room, which could be a game-changer as the company said the new in-app feature “enables users to see both the look and the fit of over 1 million clothing items they select from to try on.” Fytted said the app “utilizes user photos, their measurements and brands’ clothing size charts to accurately show users wearing the selected clothing items via Fytted’s sophisticated AI technology.” The technology helps take a bite out of returns, which is a pain point for consumers as well as retailers. Greg Auerbach, chief executive officer and cofounder of Fytted, said the app’s users “have reduced their clothing returns by 40 percent thanks to Fytted’s unmatched accuracy in recommending the right sizing across all our partnered brands. Through our AI-powered virtual fitting room and clothing measurement features, we’ve made it simple for users to browse clothing and find their perfect fit in one convenient place, merging the benefits of both online and in-person try-on shopping into one easy-to-use app.” Greg Auerbach Fytted said more than 1 million apparel items from 600-plus brand partners are available for try-on with the virtual fitting room. Brand partners include Nike, J.Crew, Mango, Lululemon, Ssense and Free People, among others.

The Private London Gym That’s Become a Celebrity Safe Haven

How many people does it take to get actor Harris Dickinson’s abs in “The Iron Claw” or Jonah Hauer-King’s prince-like strength in “The Little Mermaid”? The answer is a small village — of trainers working out of a basement in West London. The Lighthouse Club, a private gym and wellness space, is fast becoming a celebrity playground that hosts actors, musicians and other high-profile people. There, stars can train and potentially catch their next big break over a pint of beer (kept on tap). Membership is referral-only, with a firm vetting process, and starts at 200 pounds per month. The newly opened space is the brainchild of college friends George Ashwell, David Hastie and Josh Betteridge, who previously operated personal training business Before the Lights (now closed). Josh Betteridge, Georgia Canavan, David Hastie and George Ashwell. “After university, I went straight into a personal training gym environment. My best friend, who is one of our investors and also an actor, started sending me young actors to get in shape with very little budget, then his agent started doing the same,” says Ashwell, who convinced Hastie and Betteridge to join him when they returned from living in Melbourne, Australia, for two years. “Then it turned out that

Getting Ready for Loewe With Shira Haas

On Friday morning, Shira Haas joined the likes of Ayo Edebiri, Josh O’Connor, Taylor Russell, Drew Starkey, Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz at the Loewe show during Paris Fashion Week. It was the 29-year-old’s first Loewe show, and the experience was “magical.” “It was almost like seeing a movie. It had so much,” Haas said. For the show, Haas wore a gray shirtdress with a gold belt from the brand. “And of course, one of their amazing bags,” she adds. “It felt very, very cool and chic.” At the show, she was seated next to Emily Ratajkowski, who brought her 3-year-old son Sly to the show.  “I think it was his first show ever, from what I heard from him. We had a conversation, we’re friends now,” Haas says. “No, I’m joking. But he was really lovely.” She also got to reunite with Taylor Russell, who she’d previously starred in a Prada campaign with. “There were really the best people to meet, so many different actors but also directors and designers and just amazing, inspiring people,” she says.  Haas, who is best known for her starring role in the Netflix show “Unorthodox,” will begin press in the coming months for her next project, the Marvel film “Captain America:

This London Restaurant Features ‘Twin Peaks’ Interiors and Sexy Home Cooking

Kinkally, a Georgian-inspired restaurant and Kinky Bar in London’s Fitzrovia, may look like a Japanese matcha store with its minimalist exterior. But inside, the environment fuses David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” with “Dune.” It is a sight to behold — and the lower ground floor is where the magic happens. Stairs lead to a dimly lit open space housing the restaurant and bar. The latter glows with orange-hued lights, evoking a Sahara dust storm. The restaurant has a lighter, sand-washed hue and wabi-sabi furnishings. “The bar represents sunset, and the restaurant is sunrise,” says Diana Militski, Kinkally’s Russian owner, who describes the space as a love letter to her Eastern European heritage. Kinkally’s seductive interiors. The restaurant borrows its name from Georgian dumplings, known as khinkali, and they are the star dishes on the menu. “I remember when my mother was at work, I’d cook for my brother. It was mostly meatballs, cutlets and potato purees, but one of the big dishes was dumplings, which are called pelmeni or manti. The dish comes from different parts of east Asia and Russia,” says Militski. The 30-year-old Militski was born in Washington, D.C., and her childhood was split between the U.S. and Russia, where home cooking is considered a

Here’s Why the Coach Tabby Bag Is the Most Timeless Luxury Purse to Invest in Now

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. Some purses earn their ‘It’ bag status by catering to the current trend cycle. Others are timeless silhouettes that withstand fleeting waves of fashion preferences. The Coach Tabby Bag deftly does both with its classic handbag silhouette that the brand is constantly reimagining in new shapes, colorways, and prints that allow you to showcase your personal style. A stark contrast to logo-centric, in-your-face luxury that’s dominated the trend cycle in past years, fashion insiders are no longer just taking note of the Coach Tabby Bag — they’ve made the silhouette 2024’s most ubiquitous accessory. That’s because the Tabby Bag, in all of its iterations, has a classic shape that creates a canvas for textural materials, gleaming hardware, and the year’s most on-trend prints and colorways. Put simply, the Tabby Bag landed at the right place at the right time to become one of the most coveted bags of the year. Case in point: The Tabby Bag earned a spot on a recent Lyst Index Hottest Products ranking, catapulting Coach back onto the list of fashion’s Hottest Brands for the first time since

How Etsy Is Making Transactions Easier for Buyers and Sellers

In this episode of WWD Voices, host Arthur Zaczkiewicz welcomes Raina Moskowitz, COO and CMO of Esty. Moskowitz said as Etsy prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary, there’s a reflective joy in how the platform has matured and expanded. With buyer and seller numbers nearly doubling in recent years, Moskowitz highlights the importance of maintaining the essence that makes Etsy unique. This involves focusing intently on the creative community that forms the backbone of Etsy and ensuring the platform continues to be a preferred place for authentic crafts. Moskowitz also touched upon recent updates aimed at clarifying Etsy’s policies, especially around creativity standards. With growth comes the challenge of maintaining clarity and quality, both for buyers seeking genuine handcrafted items and sellers aiming to stand out with their unique offerings. The updated policies help define the role of the seller more clearly, contributing to a transparent and trusted marketplace. The conversation also delved into what “handmade” means in the contemporary context. As digital tools and technologies evolve, so do the methods of creation. Etsy recognizes these changes and is adapting its standards to include modern crafting techniques like 3D printing and digital art, ensuring that the definition of handmade remains inclusive and representative

Inflation Tops List of Retail and Fashion Industry Concerns

WWD’s latest webinar with industry experts from Kearney focused on the results of a recent executive sentiment survey that was conducted over the summer. The results showed concern surrounding economic recession and the impact of inflation as fashion retailers and brands navigate a landscape fraught with changing consumer behaviors. The webinar, titled “Inside the Minds of Today’s Fashion Industry Leaders,” featured Brian Ehrig, partner and global head of Fashion and Luxury at Kearney; Vincent Barbat, partner and Europe head of Fashion and Luxury, and Nora Kleinewillinghoefer, partner and Americas head of Fashion and Luxury at Kearney. This reporter moderated the session. “Inflation or economic recession is by far the top concern,” Ehrig said of the survey results. “Everything else falls far below that in terms of priorities.” Ehrig said a third of executives surveyed found inflation or economic recession extremely concerning or very concerning, adding, “and everything else falls pretty far below that. And that really tracks all the way around the world and every geography is in the same situation.” The amplified focus on macroeconomic influences underscores a broader tension in an industry deeply connected to consumer confidence and discretionary spending. However, the data portrayed a significant geographic variance in these concerns, with

Favorite Daughter’s Erin and Sara Foster Always Stay True to Themselves

In this special episode of WWD Voices, WWD’s West Coast executive editor Booth Moore interviewed Erin and Sara Foster, cofounders of Favorite Daughter, on the main stage at the fourth annual WWD x FN x Beauty Inc Women in Power event in New York, on fame, authenticity and the perils of hustle culture. With a partnership with Centric Brands, Favorite Daughter is on track to hit $50 million in sales this year, as reported by WWD this summer. And with major retail expansion in the works and a thriving wholesale business, the label, which includes apparel, denim, suiting, accessories and logo wear, is firing on all cylinders. Considering themselves to be “fashion outsiders,” the Fosters agreed that when they create clothing for Favorite Daughter the designs are always something that they would wear, and do wear themselves. “Erin and I run in incredible fashion circles, and all our friends are cool and chic — and shop at the right flea markets in Paris and get things off the runway,” Sara Foster said. “We have no interest being in that world, but we still want to be cool and chic and fashionable when we’re with our friends.” The sisters are also preparing to see their

WWD’s Ultimate Ranking of New York Event Venues

As fall properly gets under way in New York, so too does events season. With that in mind, we present a ranking of the event venues most favored by New York’s party scene, from best to worst. A fun vibe is always important, as is setting for beautiful (and flattering) photos, good food and drink, the ability for the space to be transformed per event — and, when the time comes, access to a swift exit.  The Pool/The Grill: The Major Food Group’s pair of hot spots (one an events space, one a restaurant) has the legacy of a New York institution, thanks to the years of top-tier events held at former occupant, The Four Seasons Restaurant, as well as the benefit of being a new, modern-feeling concept. The space photographs beautifully, the food and drinks are always perfection, and the rooms are extremely versatile: it’s where Marc Jacobs chose to host his wedding in 2019, where the CFDAs were held in 2021, and where Thom Browne threw a dinner this past fall, to name a few. The Grill is a refined cocktail-hour space, with plenty of room to mingle, and who can resist the allure of the versatile titular centerpiece

DeepL White Paper Unveils AI’s Role in Boosting Global Retail Conversion Rates

DeepL, a global provider of specialized AI translation and writing solutions for people and businesses, recently published a white paper, titled “The executive guide to AI-enabled communication and global retail,” that showed how retailers can leverage AI to drive conversions — especially retailers expanding into the global market. However, there are hurdles to success. One of the biggest challenges for U.S. retailers, for example, is engaging non-English shoppers. But there are solutions to help. “As [retailers and brands] use GenAI to personalize content and the shopper experience, more retailers going global or already operating globally are complementing their efforts by translating and/or localizing that content using AI,” the report’s authors said. “The result is standardized communications that reinforces brand values, builds trust, and reduces the likelihood of customer confusion or frustration, and personalized content, which drives higher engagement and purchases.” Success requires localization, which goes beyond simply translating a website. Localization, according to the research paper, “is the practice of adapting products or content to local languages and cultures. Essential for retailers looking to expand their global reach, content localization makes it possible to reach consumers where they’re most comfortable: in their native language.” DeepL cited data that backs up the need for localization.

New Restaurant Brass Leans Into the Old New York Vibe at the Evelyn Hotel

Almost a year after Tusk Bar opened its doors inside The Evelyn Hotel, the bar has welcomed a dining companion into the building. Brass is officially open for business. “Tusk was always the prelude to the Brass experience,” says restaurateur Nick Hasatouris, who debuted the restaurant with his chef partners Jeremiah Stone and Fabián von Hauske this week. “Getting drinks, maybe some oysters, and then going on for a dining experience.” The menu, led by the Michelin-starred Stone and von Hauske, approached the menu through the lens of a brasserie, but wanted to make it feel more New York than French. The appetizer section includes moules frites (done with chickpea frites rather than french fries) and a crab and maitake tartlet alongside a small raw bar section; entrées include steak tartare and prawn tartare, with mains like American wagyu steak, steelhead trout, and pork shoulder à la moutarde. There’s also a large-format golden amish chicken roulade stuffed with mousseline of herbs and black truffle, which Hasatouris predicts will become a signature item on the menu. Selections from the Brass menu. “I didn’t want to just have the large steak that you see on a typical menu,” says Hasatouris, whose other restaurants include Moby’s in the

Melania Trump’s Nude Fashion Shoot: Photographer Gives His Point of View

What was it like to photograph Melania Trump nude for a fashion shoot in the mid 1990s? Alexandre Alé de Basseville knows all about that. But the photographer was only reminded of that New York City assignment after Trump defended her nude modeling work in a video posted on “X” in promoting her upcoming memoir “Melania” from Skyhorse Publishing. Reached in Paris, de Basseville said he doesn’t know the last time he spoke with the former first lady and that he only learned of the media interest in his photos after people pinged him Wednesday. Having first crossed paths when she was a single model known as Melania Knauss, de Basseville wasn’t sure exactly when in the mid-1990s the photos were taken for Max magazine in a duplex studio with a rooftop at West 26th Street and Sixth Avenue. “They’re saying 1996. That was a long time ago. We’re talking about a time that doesn’t exist anymore,” he said. The New York Post reported the shoot took place in 1995. Working as an “artist photographer,” de Basseville said he was looking for a “charismatic” model to counterbalance the other model Emma Eriksson, who was already booked for the shoot. After someone told him he “had

EXCLUSIVE: Caroline Rush Is Stepping Down as CEO of the British Fashion Council

LONDON — After an action-packed 15 years, Caroline Rush plans to step down in June as chief executive officer of the British Fashion Council, and the search for her successor is on. The London-based Egon Zehnder is leading the search, supported by BFC chair David Pemsel, who has extended his tenure to 2025 to ensure a smooth transition. An announcement is expected Thursday. Rush joined the BFC in April 2009, and her job evolved rapidly from manager and marketer to fundraiser, lobbyist and crisis controller. Her tenure has spanned seven prime ministers, five U.K. general elections, and a slew of challenges triggered by Brexit and the pandemic. She’ll leave behind a sturdy organization, and one that’s no longer dependent on fortunes of fast fashion tycoons or high street sponsors. The BFC of today relies on a wider group of members who pay dues, individual donors, private- and public-sector partners. In the most recent fiscal year the BFC, a not-for-profit entity which is marking its 40th anniversary this year, had turnover of more than 12 million pounds.  It is also profitable, thanks partly to the efforts of industry investors Narmina Marandi and Tania Fares, cochairs of the BFC Foundation Fundraising Committee, and events such as the Fashion

Ishaan Khatter Isn’t Afraid to Swim With the Sharks

Ishaan Khatter’s film career continues to take him to new places. Like Cape Cod. The Indian actor was cast in Netflix limited series “The Perfect Couple” in early 2023, and soon after found himself arriving at the East Coast destination to begin production on his first English-language project. Asked about a highlight from his time in Cape Cod, Khatter, over Zoom, glances off-camera toward his team.  “My manager, Alex, can testify I went swimming in the Cape more often than desired. It was freezing when we first got there,” he says. “Cape Cod, in case you didn’t know, is the mecca for sharks,” Khatter adds. “So it was potentially unwise to be swimming, in the off season especially. But hey, you know, we take our chances. And I believe Nicole did the same. She’s a daredevil and a legend.” The Nicole in question is Nicole Kidman, one of Khatter’s many costars in the limited series, which also includes Eve Hewson, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, Jack Reynor and Meghann Fahy. Off set, the cast grew close exploring what the area had to offer — whale watching, axe-throwing — during several months of production. “We got hard into axe-throwing during that phase,” Khatter adds. “Dakota, I

Tory Burch Foundation’s Tiffany Dufu Talks Reshaping Work Culture for Women

In this special episode of WWD Voices, Eugenia Richman, editor in chief of WWD, interviews Tiffany Dufu, president of Tory Burch Foundation, on the mainstage at the fourth annual WWD x FN x Beauty Inc Women in Power event in New York, on reshaping work culture for women. Dufu’s focus, she said, is on women entrepreneurs, which the foundation aims to champion nationwide by lining up access to capital, education and community. “My life’s work is advancing women and girls. It’s not just my job. It’s why I wake up in the morning. It’s why I’m here on the planet.” Looking at women’s entrepreneurship today, the foundation’s biggest challenge has to do with revenue. It’s one of the reasons why Dufu took this job. Through partnerships with financial institutions, the foundation strives to get capital into the hands of women entrepreneurs outside of the grants it already provides. One of these partnerships includes teaming up with Bank of America to provide more than $100 million in low-interest loans to women entrepreneurs. During the conversation, Dufu also spoke about her book, “Drop the Ball: Achieving More by Doing Less.” She said that it is important to start by getting clear on what matters most,

‘Baby Reindeer’ Star Nava Mau Worked With Gigi Goode for Her History-making Emmys Night

A few weeks ago, Nava Mau was online when she saw Gigi Goode post her first collection. Mau was immediately drawn to a red wrap dress and sent a screenshot to her stylist. Goode sent the dress over the next day and it was a perfect fit, which then begged the question of where Mau was going to wear it.  “And then I was up late one night and I was like ‘Hold on, what if actually that’s the Emmys dress,’” Mau says. “And then Gigi went and made a whole new custom design.” The final product is what Mau wore to Sunday’s Emmy Awards, where she was nominated for best supporting actress in a limited series for “Baby Reindeer,” making history as she became the first trans woman to be nominated in that category. Mau accessorized the Gigi Goode custom look with Bulgari jewelry and was styled by Luca Kingston and Amanda Lim, with hair by Rena Calhoun and makeup by Luigi Chamorro. The moment was the first major red carpet look for Goode, who broke out as a runner-up on season 12 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and released her first collection recently. ‘True Detective’ Star Kali Reis on the Meaning Behind Her Emmys Look

For Sunday’s historic Emmy nomination, Kali Reis knew she had to wear purple. Reis, who starred opposite Jodie Foster in “True Detective: Night Country,” was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, making her the first Native American woman nominated for an acting Emmy. For the big night, Reis wore a custom purple velvet suit by Jovana Louis, diamond jewelry by Miraco, custom earrings, necklaces and rings by a collective of Indigenous artists and Dr. Martens shoes. She was styled by Mickey Freeman, with hair by Kim Kimble and makeup by Tay Rivera. “Purple is a color near and dear to my heart. It means royalty and it comes from the color of Wampum — that’s what we use inside of the shell back home in the northeast, and we use that to make jewelry. It was kind of our first form of currency. So using that to incorporate that color to represent where I come from and my people was just really important,” Reis says. “Not to mention it’s just a dope color.” The look was a custom project Freeman worked on with the Jovana Louis team. The Demalogica Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator is a gold-standard skin care product for softening, brightening, and smoothing the skin. The 9 Best Foundations at Walmart, Tested & Reviewed by Editors

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. The seasons are shifting, so your makeup base should, too. As we (thankfully) leave the sweltering heat behind, a crisp autumn breeze is blowing in — and Jack Frost is right around the corner. That means the air is getting dryer, so it’s important to switch up your complexion products as you would your skin care. Luckily, Walmart has so many affordable, drugstore foundations to choose from, including formulas that hydrate the skin, control oil, blur pores, and even battle breakouts. We tested them all to nail down the best foundations at Walmart — from TikTok-viral products to hidden gems your makeup bag is missing out on. In recent years, Walmart has become a bonafide beauty destination, offering hundreds of brands beyond tried-and-true drugstore staples like Maybelline and L’Oréal. The retailer’s Beauty Department provides so many opportunities to discover products you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere, like Japan’s mega-popular Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation. The site makes it easy to shop for new foundation makeup at Walmart, with options to filter products by formula type (like powder, cushion, or cream), browse

The 10 Best Drugstore Lip Glosses, Tested & Reviewed by Editors

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. Lip gloss has always been a reliable beauty staple at the drugstore, akin to the best drugstore mascaras and drugstore foundations. Not only is it one of the most forgiving makeup products money can buy (usually no mirror is necessary), but the best drugstore lip glosses have evolved to compete with prestige formulas in lip-loving hydration, non-sticky comfort, and high-shine finishes. Still, the infinite assortment of affordable options can be hit or miss, so we tested the best drugstore lip glosses to determine the absolute cream of the crop. The sole objective of a lip gloss is to deliver a juicy finish to the lips, which creates the illusion of a fuller pout — but beyond that, you’ve got options. Hydration is the most important factor in any lip gloss formula because otherwise, you’d be drawing attention to a dry and flaky smile (not so cute!). The increasing demand for lip care products on TikTok, like moisturizing lip balms and lip oils, has pushed drugstore brands to develop formulas with high-shine finishes and nourishing skin care ingredients such as hyaluronic acid,

The 15 Best Moisturizers for Dry, Sensitive Skin, According to Dermatologists

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. Finding the best moisturizer for dry, sensitive skin is no easy task. While you might be tempted to slather on the richest formula you can find and call it a day, catering to sensitivity and the different causes of dryness or dehydration requires a little extra work. What causes dry, sensitive skin? According to dermatologists, there’s no shortage of possibilities. “There’s a whole host of reasons this may occur,” says dermatologist Dr. Mona Gohara. “You might not be moisturizing enough, using overly harsh products to cleanse, overusing retinoids, over-exfoliating, or using the wrong mix of products.” Beyond your routine, external factors such as changes in weather (hello, fall!) or sun exposure can also contribute to this skin type. Whether your sensitivity shows up as an occasional reaction to products or a more frequent skin condition flare up (like eczema and rosacea), you need a moisturizer that reinforces your natural barrier function. “Some people have a weaker skin barrier and are more prone to irritation,” says dermatologist Dr. Joshua Zeichner. Once your barrier becomes compromised, you’ll experience symptoms like redness, burning, stinging and

Clé de Peau Beauté and Artist Cj Hendry Bring ‘Flower Market’ to Roosevelt Island

This weekend — and only this weekend — 100,000 flowers are in bloom on New York’s Roosevelt Island. Artist Cj Hendry and Clé de Peau Beauté have unveiled “Flower Market,” their immersive installation of plush flowers, at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park. Visitors are invited to “pick” a flower from the exhibition to take with them; additional flowers, along with floral-themed merchandise, can be purchased. The beauty brand and artist hosted a VIP preview of the installation on Thursday night ahead of its public opening. Hendry, who’s been working on the collaboration for the past two years, described the exhibition’s official debut as “magical.” “Seeing the crowd walk into the installation and their initial reaction was priceless,” said the Australia-based artist, whose photorealistic drawings found a large audience initially through Instagram. “What surprised me most was how much people wanted to interact with the flowers — there was this instinctual desire to touch, hold and explore them. It was exactly the playful, immersive vibe I hoped for. Watching people reconnect with that childlike sense of wonder felt incredibly rewarding.” Martha Stewart Jordan Roth The installation features 20 different types of flowers, inspired by the botanical ingredients incorporated in Clé de Peau

Megan Park on Her Second Feature Film ‘My Old Ass’ With Maisy Stella and Aubrey Plaza

“The Fallout” director Megan Park began working on her second feature with a vague concept and bold title: “My Old Ass.” “The title was one of the first things that I came up with,” Park says of the film, which was released in theaters Friday. “I didn’t know where the story was going to go or what was going to happen necessarily — but the title, it set the tone for me.” It’s mid-August, and the 38-year-old writer-director is in New York for press, including an outdoor screening of the film later that evening on the downtown waterfront. “My Old Ass” premiered during the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and is getting a theatrical release nine months later, just as summer begins its transition to fall.   “It feels like a really good time of year for it to come out,” says Park of the release date. The film takes place during the summer before the main character heads off to their freshman year of college. “That was our dream.” While selling the movie, the title became a litmus test, one that Amazon and MGM passed. “People who got the movie understood the title,” Park says. “And once we were at Amazon, it was never

Michael Urie Is in His Dreamy Era

“It’s been a dreamy couple of years,” says Michael Urie on a Friday afternoon phone call, just hours before a performance of his latest Broadway show “Once Upon a Mattress” at the Hudson Theatre. These dreamy years have also been busy ones for the star, who rose to fame for his role as Marc St. James on the sitcom “Ugly Betty.” Now, Urie stars in the hit Apple TV dramedy “Shrinking” alongside Harrison Ford and Jason Segel — season two premieres Oct. 16. He has also taken the stage by storm over the past couple of years, starring in Broadway’s revival of “Spamalot” and now the revival of “Once Upon a Mattress,” which also had a stint at New York City Center in the winter. While both shows feature Urie in showstopping musical numbers, he never considered himself to be “very musical.”  Michael Urie in “Once Upon a Mattress.” “Doing a musical at all, it’s still a pinch me thing,” he says. “I fell in love with theater because of musicals…[but singing] didn’t come naturally to me.”  Urie continues: “I wasn’t going to be in ‘Les Mis.’ I wasn’t going to be in ‘Phantom.’ I wasn’t going to be in these big singing musicals. EXCLUSIVE: Kourtney Kardashian Barker’s Lemme Wants In on the Ozempic Boom

Lemme is betting big on weight loss supplements.  On Monday, Kourtney Kardashian Barker’s supplement brand will launch its Lemme GLP-1 Daily, $90 or $72 with subscription, a weight management capsule formulated with three clinically studied and patented ingredients: Eriomin lemon fruit extract, Supresa saffron extract and Morosil red orange fruit extract. Rather than employing synthetic GLP-1s like the drugs on the market, Lemme’s supplement aims to naturally increase the body’s GLP-1 levels over time. This new launch, which will be exclusively available on the brand’s website, rounds out Lemme’s metabolic-centric lineup, which also includes Lemme Burn, $40, said to boost metabolism and burn fat, and Lemme Curb, $40, a cravings support supplement. It also comes on the heels of the brand’s Lemme Curb, $30, chew launch, a new format in the lineup. “There’s so many incredible benefits [of GLP-1s] outside of weight loss and appetite control, whether it’s reduced inflammation, slower aging, increase in energy, helping to support healthy hormones,” said Kardashian Barker’s business partner Simon Huck, calling this latest launch a “powerhouse sku” combining the best of the brand’s other two metabolic offerings. “It’s one of the reasons why Kourtney was so excited, and we’re so excited to launch this product.”  Lemme GLP-1 Daily In a

Getting Ready for Michael Kors With Mindy Kaling

“I love the Michael Kors show. We share the same initials,” said Mindy Kaling, from the car en route to the designer’s spring 2025 show. The actress and producer, who has attended the designer’s shows a few times now, was making her last stop of NYFW at the Kors show before immediately catching a flight home to see her kids. For Michael Kors, she got to take advantage of the temperate New York weather and wear one of the designer’s gray wool coats.   “I’ve been working for 20 years and I’ve gone to a lot of fashion things, but I’ve never worn outerwear as a dress. So it’s so exciting to wear this timeless, beautiful tweed coat. It feels like a really kind of luxurious staple for Michael Kors,” she said. “But I love that it’s a little sexy because I’m wearing it with nothing underneath, which is kind of fun.” In addition to sharing initials, Kaling is a fan of “the kind of women that he’s drawn to and wants to include in these events.”  “Fashion can sometimes have the reputation of not necessarily being so inclusive of people of different images and you see these incredible performers and political women, just

Gwyneth Paltrow, Colman Domingo and More Celebrate Boucheron’s Opening in New York

After a chaotic week of running between shows and parties, the Boucheron cocktail party Tuesday evening — held in the garden at the Cooper Hewitt museum with a lullaby of a performance by Leon Bridges — felt like a much-needed balm. That is, once you actually made it up to 91st Street.  The jewelry brand was celebrating the opening of its first New York boutique, and installed an immersive exhibit in the museum called “From Paris to New York: A Cutting-edge Journey Since 1858,” which shows off the brand’s 166-year history of pieces. The exhibition deposited guests out into the garden, where sparkling rosé was passed, couches had been arranged and mingling commenced. The night was attended by many a Hollywood star, each more glittering in jewels than the next. Gwyneth Paltrow, Colman Domingo, Hailee Steinfeld, Cole Sprouse and girlfriend Ari Fournier, Mina, Alexa Chung, and Anja Rubik were each outfitted in Boucheron gems. Other guests included Nicole Ari Parker, Aly Raisman, Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Camila Coelho, Leni Klum, Pritika Swarup and Tina Leung.  Paltrow posed for photos alongside François-Henri Pinault before finding her husband, Brad Falchuk, in the crowd. The two found a seat on one of the couches and held hands as cameras

Raffles Celebrates New Campaign With Fashion Week Dinner

On Tuesday night at Indochine, everyone was talking about the butler. Luxury hospitality brand Ruffles hosted a dinner during fashion week to celebrate the release of its new campaign, “The Butler Did It,” that highlights the butler service at their properties worldwide. Images from the campaign were set at every dinner seat, and the team behind the imagery were on hand to detail their creation. “When I met first with Claudia [Kozma Kaplan, global head of brand] and Omer [Acar, chief executive officer], I said, what’s the one thing that makes Raffles different than all the other fabulous hotels? They’re like ‘our butlers. They take care of everything before you even realize you need it,'” said Trey Laird, who led creative on the campaign. “It’s like, oh — ‘the butler did it.’ So I thought, I want to make it this eccentric thing that these crazy, stylish, amazing guests go and the butler takes care of everything — their wildest requests.” He cast model Tim Easton in the role of the butler, and Waris Ahluwalia (“he makes everything like a movie,” Laird said) and Robert Rabensteiner in the role of the campaign guests. “Dylan [Don] had done this great shoot with Waris that I

Inside Frame’s NYFW Dinner With Alix Earle, Joan Smalls and More

The Frame dinner has become a staple of every New York Fashion Week. Typically held a few days into the week (this year’s fell on Monday), the dinner is marked for being a late-night, laid-back affair where denim is obviously welcome, the drinks are plentiful and the objective is nothing more than having a good time. This year the brand gathered their loyal crowd at Mr. Chow’s Midtown location, where lychee martinis were the drink of choice. Influencer Alix Earle, who has been a staple of fashion events for the last year, was there, having flown up from Miami for the occasion. (She is the face of Frame’s newest campaign.) Other guests included models Joan Smalls, Dilone, Toni Garn and Taylor Hill; musician Charlotte Lawrence (yes, she’s everywhere this week); actress Taylour Paige; actor Paul Wesley, and musician Giveon. It was a fashion family affair as well. Sisters Amelia Gray Hamlin and Delilah Belle, mother-daughter duo Gucci Westman and Gray Neville, and Natalie Massenet and daughters Isabella Massenet and Ava Massenet were all there. Fashion industry nepo babies Leni Klum, Lila Moss and Grace Burns, fresh off of walking behind her mother Christy Turlington Burns at the Ralph Lauren show, also swung

Celebrities Front Row at Tory Burch Spring 2025: Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen and More

Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen, Mindy Kaling, Jodie Turner-Smith, Lukita Maxwell, Charlotte Lawrence, Maude Apatow, Song Yuqi and KiKi Layne headed to the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn on Monday evening for Tory Burch’s spring 2025 show.  It was Turner-Smith’s first show of the week.  “I love her eye for design, her creative aesthetic. I was very interested to see what the season would bring,” she said of coming to see Burch’s latest.  Turner-Smith chose a structured, textured jacket with a high collared shirt for the occasion. “I really love how it was kind of like a menswear-y feel, obviously so chic and elegant and feminine, almost military, and also schoolboy,” she said.  After New York, Turner-Smith will head to London, though she stayed mum as to what show she’ll attend. “You’ll see,” she smiled. Next to her, Williams was feeling nostalgic.  “When I first moved to New York City, I remember when the [Tory Burch] store opened on Elizabeth Street, and I remember how it really made that NoLIta area into a very exciting shopping destination,” Williams said. “Today, it’s such a memory for me, being 16, 17, 18 years old and wandering those streets.” The actress was dressed in a metallic knit sleeveless sweater and coordinating skirt for the

Celebrities Front Row at Coach Spring 2025 Ready-to-Wear: Jayson Tatum, Charles Melton and More

On Monday afternoon, Coach staged its latest runway show close to home: the stretch of the New York City Highline right outside its Hudson Yards headquarters. It was a quintessential New York setting for the brand’s love letter to the city — and an opportunity for the crowd to see Pamela Rosenkranz’s hot pink “Old Tree” sculpture before it gets swapped for a giant pigeon sculpture this fall. Front-row guests included several stars of Coach’s fall “Unlock Your Courage” campaign. “It’s such a dream come true to be a part of a great company; to be part of a brand that has so much history and beautiful narrative and storytelling,” said Charles Melton, sitting next to fellow campaign face Storm Reid before the show. “I second everything Charles said,” added Reid. “I’ve been working with Coach for a really long time, so it really feels like a familial relationship, rather than a work relationship. So I’m just happy to be here,” she said, before showing off her green Statue of Liberty earring, part of Coach’s Big Apple-themed accessory lineup. Put Your Phone Down — Gen Z Fashion Cool Girls Use Film Cameras Now.

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, WWD may receive an affiliate commission. What’s your Instagram style? Are you an avid photo-dumper with curated carousels or do go for the occasional one-off portrait? Whether you’re a comical captioner or prefer prose, the most important part of any grid post, of course, is the image you’re sharing. If you’re looking for an easy way to upgrade your grid and better highlight your most Instagram-worthy moments, consider swapping your iPhone lens for one of the best film cameras that come approved by Gen Z fashion cool girls. There have never been more photo editing features to filter your ‘flicks, be it FaceTune or eerily accurate AI tools. But, let’s face it, nobody has time to fuss with their photos all day (especially if you prefer a hefty photo dump), plus social media trends are shifting away from overly-edited imagery, anyway. Blame it on Gen Z’s candid internet presence across apps like TikTok or BeReal, or consider the golden rule to achieving an It-girl aura — trying too hard never looks cool. Not only do film cameras produce a perfectly imperfect image with a built-in filter (that

Net-a-porter Brings the Fashion Week Crowd Downtown to Eel Bar

Each year Net-a-porter takes over a New York hot spot for its annual fashion week party. This year, the newly opened Eel Bar in the Lower East Side was the setting, an opportunity for industry insiders and friends of the retailer to catch up amid the busy show schedule. Guests at the lively late-afternoon party included Tiffany Haddish, Charlotte Lawrence, Ego Nwodim, Clara McGregor and Moses Ingram; models Veronica Webb, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Kate Love, Richie Shazam, Ruby Aldridge and Ivy Getty, and designers including Adam Lippes, Brandon Maxwell, Christopher John Rogers, Jennifer Fisher and Rebecca Vallance. Many guests were dressed in outfits featured in Net-a-porter’s “Power Play” campaign, which launched on the site Monday. Net-a-porter signature cocktail “Alison’s Spicy Skinny Margarita” — named for the site’s interim chief executive officer Alison Loehnis — was on offer alongside bites from the restaurant, including patatas fritas and dulce, which were dispensed by a vintage vending machine. Blood orange granitas served as a nightcap as guests headed out. The weekend was coming to a close, but fashion week was still far from over. Richie Shazam at the Net-a-porter NYFW cocktail party. Getting Ready in Vintage Stella McCartney for TIFF With Brenda Song

In the midst of all the New York Fashion Week action, the Toronto International Film Festival is having its fair share of major style moments. Over the weekend, Gia Coppola’s new film “The Last Showgirl” had its premiere, and is already earning rave reviews. The film stars Pamela Anderson as a longtime Las Vegas showgirl named Shelley, who is told that the show she leads will close permanently in two weeks. The film also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Brenda Song, Dave Bautista, Kiernan Shipka and Billie Lourd. For the big premiere night, Song, who broke out on the Disney Channel in the 2000s, wore an “incredible” vintage Stella McCartney gown styled by Elizabeth Stewart’s team. Song started the day “steaming my dress at 6 a.m.,” before moving onto glam with Richard Grant on hair and Tami El-Sombati on makeup.  “It’s all about the skin prep and yes, I’m in my pjs,” she captioned a photo of the process. Makeup was “a bronze smokey eye” and hair was “‘effortless’ waves that take a lot of effort and talent.” To complete the vibe of the look, makeup artist El-Sombati “brought an early 2000s digital camera with her and took some fun shots on our way

Chloë Sevigny, Addison Rae, Natasha Lyonne and More Party for Myth Magazine’s Launch During NYFW

The scent of cigarette smoke wafting down Sixth Avenue announced that the Myth Magazine party was nearby on Saturday evening around 9:30 p.m. The venue, downtown hot spot Holiday Bar, has hosted many a fashion party since opening a few years ago — but the outdoor sidewalk terrace that served as a smoking section surely had to be what made it the venue of choice. Myth Magazine editor in chief, stylist Haley Wollens, and needs-no-introduction Chloë Sevigny were hosting a party to celebrate the launch of the magazine. Slogans like “fashion is a performance,” “magazines are a myth” and “I’m not like the other magazines” were on display inside the restaurant, which had been cleared of its tables to enable dancing.  Addison Rae, Natasha Lyonne, Coco Gordon Moore, Tyrell Hampton, Rebecca Dayan and Rowan Blanchard were in attendance, as was Wollens’ mother, plus other members of the downtown and aspirationally downtown set. 1980s synth blended into ’90s hip-hop overhead, electronic roses glowing red were strewn across tables and restaurant owner Kyle Hotchkiss Carone wove his way through the room transporting a bottle of Body vodka.  “I think it’s important to have a really epic New York magazine that’s capturing what’s happening in New

Guests included Ava Phillippe, Sarah Hoover, Athena Calderone, Charlotte Groeneveld, Talita von Furstenberg, Joseph Altuzarra, Trish Westcoat Pound of TWP, The Frankie Shops’ Gaëlle Drevet and of course, Moda Operandi cofounder and chief brand officer Lauren Santo Domingo and chief executive officer Jim Gold. Trays of Aperol spritzes and glasses of rosé swirled about as influencers chatted and swapped fashion week schedules. Attendees were dressed in everything from striped boxer shorts — one of summer’s hottest trends — to flowing red gowns, as was the case with a trio of young women who looked like they were ready for a black-tie affair.  Fresh off her performance at the LuisaViaRoma store opening party, Charlotte Lawrence serenaded the crowd with her musical talents as the night neared close. Celebrities (And Dogs) Front Row at the Rachel Antonoff and Susan Alexandra Spring 2025 Fashion Show

Every so often a dog will pop up in the front row of a fashion show, usually on the lap of a very VIP guest. At Rachel Antonoff and Susan Alexandra’s joint fashion show on Friday afternoon, all guests were encouraged to bring their furry companions along to St. Ann’s Warehouse in Dumbo. And everyone in the audience was also very, very encouraged to adopt one of the dogs walking in the show, which partnered with Animal Haven and Muddy Paws Rescue. “I think my doodle would be so mad if I brought home another dog,” said Busy Philipps before the show, which was “Best of Show” themed. “I’m a huge fan of Rachel Antonoff and I’ve been a friend of hers for many years. I love her clothing. I buy it, I wear it myself, and I love Susan Alexander. My daughter’s obsessed with all of her jewelry,” she added. “I also love dogs.” Guests lined up outside of the theater, while several of the model-rescue dogs lounged on the ground nearby, getting an early taste of the attention that often accompanies fame. VIP guests, dog or human alike, came dressed in Susan Alexandra’s colorful beaded accessories and Rachel Antonoff clothing.

Air Mail and Bloomingdale’s Brings Italian Flair to Fashion Week With Upper East Side Soiree

On Thursday night, Air Mail and Bloomingdale’s teamed up to bring the retailer’s “From Italy, With Love” fall campaign to life on the Upper East Side. The first floor of the Academy Mansion set the scene for a lively evening with Italian touches throughout the sprawling party, which channeled nostalgia through the setting of the 1920s mansion, longtime media personalities and a few film icons. The party was hosted by Graydon Carter and Bloomingdale’s chief executive officer Olivier Bron, along with event cohosts Isabella Rossellini, Christine Baranski and Morgan Spencer. “Do you think there’s a Negroni around here?” A guest was walking alongside Spector, past the gelato cart in the courtyard. It was a fair assumption; there were nods to the Italian theme throughout the party, including a food installation by Laila Gohar (the artist’s second fashion week party of the week), which featured cubes constructed of Italian assortments: olives, tomatoes and mozzarella. Less than an hour into the party, a guest approached and pulled a few olives off. Event matchbooks and golden masquerade masks were set out around the party, to further set the vibe. “I grew up in Rome, and came to America when I was 18. But, you know,

Celebrities Front Row at Ralph Lauren Spring 2025: First Lady Jill Biden, Usher, Jude Law and More

“Color me impressed,” rising actress Diana Silvers said to the gentleman next to her Thursday evening ahead of Ralph Lauren’s spring 2025 show, as she took in the scene around her. After many hours in the car — or a short few in a chopper, if you’re lucky, famous or both — guests were deposited onto a meticulously curated equestrian scene in Bridgehampton, N.Y., where the night began with an outdoor cocktail hour next to a pasture of horses. Adding to the impression was the night’s big VIP: none other than First Lady Jill Biden, who attended with granddaughter Finnegan Biden. Other celebrity guests included Jude Law, Usher, Kacey Musgraves, Naomi Watts, Colman Domingo, Tom Hiddleston, Cole Spouse, Joey King, Laura Dern and daughter Jaya Harper, Demi Singleton, H.E.R., Justin Theroux and Rufus Wainwright. Biden was approached by one celebrity after the next. Hiddleston themed his questions around their surroundings.  “Do you ride horses?” he asked her. “No,” she replied.  It was Jude Law’s first Ralph Lauren show, despite having worn the brand personally for years.  “This kind of a relationship started today. Last season gave us viral couple Pookie and Jett, while this season we’ve already spotted Mormon tradwife TikTok power couple Nara and Lucky Blue Smith. They’re sure to be the first of many online phenoms that join in on the fashion fun — but who else? Well, let’s dream a little, shall we, and concoct our fantasy front row. It is my go-to: dress up, dress down; casual, breezy,” she added. “As I’ve gotten older, I feel like they make a lot of pieces that connect with who I’ve grown into.” King is gearing up to release her latest project, a film adaptation of the popular YA book “Uglies” for Netflix. In addition to starring as main character Tally Youngblood, King served as an executive producer. “I read ‘Uglies’ for the first time when I was 11 years old. And I was like, oh my god — I’m so obsessed. I love it so much,” she said. “I took
