Yet another incident has left the nation in shock. Priyanka Reddy, a Hyderabad vet, was brutally murdered after she was sexually assaulted by a group of men. She was burnt alive after she was raped. Ever since the incident, many actors, politicians, among others have demanded justice for the Hyderabad vet. Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, Vijay Deverakonda, Rakul Preet Singh among others have condemned and urged to take strict actions against those who commit such gruesome crimes.

Salman Khan took to Twitter to express his anger and demanded justice for Priyanka Reddy. "#JusticeForPriyankaReddy These r the worst kind of shaitans disguised in the human form! The pain, torture n death of innocent women like nirbhaya n Priyanka Reddy should now get us together n put an end to such shaitans who live among us, before any other innocent woman n their family go through this extreme agony n loss as this has to be stopped. Let betii bachao not be just a campaign. This is the time to let these demons know that v all stand together. May Priyanka’s soul rest in peace," he wrote on Twitter.

Anushka Sharma also took to Twitter and wrote, "Pain..Anguish..Anger..Frustration..Disbelief.. this is absolutely horrific and should be given the severest of punishments. My thoughts and prayers are with Priyanka’s family. Justice should be served swiftly."

Since the incident, the culprits have been arrested.

John Abraham's race against time action thriller, Attack will release worldwide on 14th August 2020. In July, Bollywood Hungama reported that filmmaker will bring together a fresh pair - Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan for an interesting project. But, it won't be a sequel to Raanjhanaa which starred Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor. This will be a fresh story and reportedly will also have a third angle to it. This includes Ajay Devgn who might become a part of the project.

According to a source, "Ajay Devgn, who is busy with the shooting of Maidaan, heard the script of Aanand L Rai’s next which stars Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan in the lead. The filmmaker was in search for a perfect third angle for his movie. The actor already has a string of movies lined up in 2020 which includes Maidaan, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior among various other projects that he is producing. So, he is trying to figure out his exact availability before signing on the dotted line."

“I’ll be teaming up with Aanand L Rai some time. I will be doing a Hindi film, it’ll be announced soon,” Dhanush confirmed at the trailer launch of his international project, The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Aanand L Rai directed Zero last December which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The filmmaker is producing Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan with Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead. It is slated for February 21, 2020 release.

Rajkumar Hirani’s last release Sanju was said to be one of the best films of the year and he has also managed to leave the audience astounded with his previous films. The director knows his way around the script and if the word is to be believed, then he will soon be collaborating with Abhijat Joshi for his next.

There are reports of his next venture being a biopic based on Lala Amarnath. He was a legendary cricketer who was also the first test captain for independent India’s cricket team. Lala Amarnath was also the first Indian cricketer to score a test match hundred for the country. The man has made us all proud and has helped make cricket what it is in the country.

Even though there have been no confirmations from the makers' end, there are reports that Rajkumar Hirani might not direct this film. All we can do right now is wait for all the details to come out.

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta is currently directing gangster drama, Mumbai Saga which stars John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi in the leading roles. It was recently revealed that Jackie Shroff had to quit the project since he didn't have any dates and was busy with another project. Then, actor-filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar stepped in and now we know what role he will be playing in the film.

If the reports are anything to go by, Mahesh Manjrekar will essay the role of Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray. The role was to be played by Jackie but since he left the project, it has now gone to Manjrekar. Since the project is set in the late 80-90s era of Mumbai, it remains to be seen how the story will unfold.

Sanjay Gupta's Mumbai Saga is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. Set in the 1980s-1990s period, it stars John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, and Amole Gupte. It is set for 2020 release.

Aamir Khan has kick-started shooting for Laal Singh Chaddha. The actor, along with the team, recently traveled to start shooting for the next leg of the movie. Now, Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have finished the shoot of a romantic song of the film in Chandigarh.

Immediately after that, the team has now traveled to Amritsar for another eight-day shooting schedule. Laal Singh Chaddha will be shot in over a hundred different locations across India.

The film has already piqued the interest of his fans ever since Aamir's first look was out. Dressed in a turban-clad sitting in a train bogie. He had an innocent smile on his face, holding a box of mithai has already taken the internet by storm with his never before seen look.

Written by Atul Kulkarni, the film is helmed by Advait Chandan and will be produced by Viacom18 Studios and Aamir Khan Productions. Laal Singh Chaddha is slated to hit the theatres during Christmas 2020, next year.

It was only recently that we, at Bollywood Hungama, reported that Akshay Kumar will be co-producing the remake of Bhaagamathie with Bhumi Pednekar and R Madhavan as the lead pair. However, Madhavan took to his Twitter to deny any association with the project. Just today, Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter to announce the same project, titled Durgavati.

The project stars Bhumi Pednekar in and as Durgavati, a scary thriller that is going to keep you at the edge of your seats. The film will go on floors mid-January, 2020 with Akshay Kumar’s A Cape Of Good Films and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series as the presenters. Durgavati will be produced by Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment and is being directed by Ashok G.

Akshay Kumar has always tried to do his bit for the community of stuntmen. Two years after he launched an insurance scheme for Bollywood's stuntmen, the actor once again rushed to the aid of two stunt artistes who were recently injured. Bittoo and Hari Singh, members of senior action director Sham Kaushal's stunt team, were injured during the rehearsals for a song launch from Good Newwz in Chandigarh. Though Kumar was not present at the scene, the actor along with Karan Johar promptly arranged for an air ambulance to fly one of them down to Mumbai for necessary medical treatment.

Recounting the accident that occurred on Tuesday, Kaushal says, “The film’s production team wanted to do a rehearsal, for which I sent three members of my team. It was important to check if the wire work was smooth and performing the stunt was a safe proposition. As part of the stunt, two of them, Bittoo and Hari Singh, were attached to the winch machine and were performing stunts mid-air. But during the second round of rehearsals, the machine collapsed due to a technical malfunction and the boys had a freefall from a height of nearly 10-12 feet.”

When the on-ground production team rushed the two men to the nearest hospital, it was discovered that Bittoo had suffered a shock to his spine. “The other lad, who hails from Chandigarh, was discharged the next day," says Kaushal, adding that when word of Bittoo's injury reached Kumar, he made arrangements for him to be brought to Mumbai so that he could avail the best medical care. “Akshay paaji was at a shoot in Hyderabad but was keeping a constant check on the boys. On Friday, he and Karan’s team arranged for an air ambulance for Bittoo so that he could be flown down to Mumbai. He has now been advised 2 months of bed rest,” says Kaushal, adding that it was graceful of Kumar and Johar to stand by the community in their hour of need.

Religious intolerance get a new definition this week as a fundamentalist organization has asked the  Central Board Of Film Certification to remove visuals of Sadhus dressed as gods dancing with Salman Khan to the sound of 'Hud Hud Dabangg'.

Says the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, “If the movie happens to be on the lines of what we have seen in the trailer, it is extremely shocking depiction of Hindu deities and sadhus and also goes at great lengths to humiliate and poke fun at the basic foundations of Sanatana Dharma.”

However, it is unlikely that the aforementioned  visuals will be removed from the film. A source close to Dabangg 3 says, “The song and its visuals have been cleared by the censor board. There is nothing scandalous or improper about Sadhus dancing. They do so quite often in real life. This is  one more example of niche religious organizations trying to gain publicity by fastening their fortunes to a huge franchise. There will be no compromise on  this issue.”

Sources say Prabhu Dheva who directs the film and has choreographed the song is trying to wrap his head around the controversy.

“During Ram Leela and Dussehra, there’s a tradition of folks dressed up as the Gods singing and dancing. How is this wrong?” wonders a source close to Prabhu Dheva.

The CBFC is unlikely to entertain the demand of the fundamentalists.

Warina Hussain is thrilled to carry on the baton from Malaika Arora who made ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ one of Bollywood’s most popular songs. He doesn't need choreography and improvises a lot. So, I had to catch up with him on the steps."

Anil D. Ambani led Reliance Entertainment is all set to produce the official Hindi remake of Paula Hawkins’ 2015 runaway bestseller, 'The Girl On The Train'. The book was also adapted into a Hollywood film by Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Pictures and received a warm reception at the US box office.

The film will now be clashing with Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Singh’s film Dil Bechara which is a remake of Hollywood film The Fault In Our Stars.

The Supreme Court on Friday said that no coercive action will be taken against Bollywood actor Salman Khan on a complaint filed against him for allegedly hurting religious sentiment. The actor produced the 2018 Bollywood film Loveyatri which was accused of hurting sentiments.

Several private criminal complaints were filed in 2018 against the movie alleging that its name has hurt the religious sentiment of the Hindus. The film which was earlier named Loveratri, but was changed to Loveyatri by the producers keeping in mind that earlier name sounded like Navratri.

The film marked the acting debut of Salman Khan's brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain. The film directed by Abhiraj Minawala also starred Ram Kapoor and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles. Arbaaz and Sohail Khan had a special appearance in the film.

Of recent, with the release of every film, people have raised concerns over the choice of casting. There has been a debate about whether young actors should be essaying older characters, whether fair-skinned actors should play characters with dark shade or even if hiring cisgender people for transgender roles is suitable or not.

Ayushmann Khurrana who has delivered seven hits back-to-back has a rather interesting perspective on this debate. The actor in an interview with a daily said that an actor is always looking forward to something which is different and which is not really them on screen. He said that if the same logic is applied, an actor will never be able to play a cricketer.

He said that people will question why a real cricketer was not taken or why not cast someone who is balding. Ayushmann Khurrana recently went bald for his character in Bala. The actor said that he is someone with a great hairline and so he is the worst candidate for this role.

On the other hand, Ayushmann Khurrana has played the role of a small-town guy in several of his films including Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Shubh Mangal Savdhaan, and Bareilly Ki Barfi. The actor said that if that logic is applied he would never able to play a small-town guy as the actor is a convent educated urban guy. Ayushmann said that actors are always looking for roles that make them push their boundaries not just in terms of acting skills but also in the way they look.

The Vicky Donor actor who has done the maximum number of films that have a social message said that at the end of the day, the message and intent of the film should be correct. When asked whom he looks up to as his inspiration, he said that he looks up to Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor. He said that both the actors are extremely talented and inspire him.

Bigg Boss 13 has become one of the biggest reality shows on television which has garnered a lot of attention. Their USP being controversies, this time, it’s between Rashami Desai, Shehnaaz, and Hindustani Bhau. Rashami got in a verbal spat with Shehnaaz who accused Bhau of touching her in an inappropriate manner.

During the task, the contestants were supposed to take alphabets from Sidharth Shukla who has injured his finger. To help him out, Shehnaaz was sitting next to him and during the task while taking an alphabet from her; she claimed that Bhau touched her. When Rashami heard this, she came to Bhau’s defence and said that nothing like that has happened and Shehnaaz was exaggerating the matter.

While all of this went down in a huge argument, Sidharth Shukla accused Rashami of portraying things in a wrong way. He then went to Bhau and asked him to clear things out with Shehnaaz and said that the girls have a habit of exaggerating things.

The makers also got slammed with a legal notice from Peshwa Bajirao's descendant for objectionable dialogue.

Director Ashutosh Gowariker during a promotional event urged people to watch the historical drama before forming perceptions about the film. The filmmaker said that after watching the film, people will realize that it has been made with honest intent and that it is all good in the film.

After this statement by Ashutosh, the makers were served legal notices by Nawabzada Shadab Ali Bahadur -- an eighth-generation descendant of Peshwa Bajirao. Film's producers Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar, and director Ashutosh Gowariker over a certain dialogue that actress Kriti Sanon as Parvati Bai delivers in the film.

In the dialogue, Kriti is heard saying, “Maine suna hai Peshwa jab akele muhim par jaate hain to ek Mastani ke saath laut te hain (I have heard that whenever the Peshwa goes to the war alone, he returns with a Mastani).” The descendant, as the report claims, finds it inappropriate and believes that this would not only paint Mastani Sahiba in a bad picture but is also not respectful towards the Peshwa. He also added that Mastani wasn’t just another woman in the Peshwa’s life but was his wife.

Taapsee Pannu has been on a roll with some powerful roles in her past projects. She has always made sure to pick projects that leave a mark on her audiences and has garnered a lot of appreciation for her last performance in Saand Ki Aankh. Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar did complete justice to the stories of Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar.

If the latest reports are to be believed, then Taapsee Pannu has been signed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his next project. Taapsee will be seen playing a double role in the film and is being said to be titled Sia Jia. While there are no confirmations from the team about this project, if things fall in place, it will go on floors next year. There aren’t any reports as to what the plot of the film might be but it is being said to be quite a different one from the rest. Sia Jia will be co-produced by Shabina Khan.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently occupied with Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Rani Mukerji’s much-awaited next, Mardaani 2, has shocked and gripped the nation with its brilliant storyline that is inspired by shocking true crimes against women by juveniles. The edge-of-the-seat thriller will see Rani in a race against time to capture a brutal serial rapist who systematically targets women. And, we hear, for a particular chase sequence, Rani overcame hydrophobia to hunt down her cold-blooded nemesis.

Rani reveals saying, "There was a scene in the film that required me to do an underwater action sequence. When I heard it for the first time during the script narration from Gopi I was quite disturbed because honestly, I have fear of water as I actually do not know how to swim. From childhood, I have the fear of getting into the pool. All my life I have tried several times to be able to get myself to swim but unfortunately, I have not been successful. The first thing I asked Gopi after the narration got over is how important is the underwater sequence, is it very imperative for the film or whether we can do without it. To my utter shock, Gopi said that it cannot be changed and he would like to shoot the sequence underwater and he would prefer not changing it."

She adds, "I realised that it was going to be a huge challenge for me going forward with the film to do this particular underwater sequence. Doing an underwater shot is still ok if they are just beauty shots as one can still manage it however doing action underwater gets very challenging.  I spoke to Gopi and gradually told him that unfortunately, his lead actor does not know to swim and he was utterly shocked. He was then in a dilemma of how this sequence is ever going to take place. I requested Gopi to keep the underwater sequence as the last thing that we will shoot for the film so I could get time to practice swimming and also try to get rid of my fear."

Rani took the time to practice swimming. She says, "We finished shooting the film in June and because I was so scared to even attempt doing the underwater sequence I kept delaying the practice sessions and then we kind of reached September/October. Everybody started to panic and said that now we are at a deadline and we have to shoot it. I guess since we were that close to the deadline I knew that there was no other option but to shoot in October as the rains had also stopped and this was the only window for us to shoot. I mustered courage and started going for my swimming lessons."

Rani further elaborates saying, "I luckily got an amazing coach Anees Adenwala, he trained me so well and was absolutely wonderful. He actually eased me in water and I realised that at this point if I don't get rid of my water phobia I would never in life and this film gave me a great chance to tackle the demon in my life of not being able to swim. I practiced with him and he trained me for the underwater sequence. We shot the sequence in Khopoli where the military people train. It’s a 30 feet pool which is very deep. They had to make the pool look like we are in the middle of the Chambal river where the sequence is actually taking place. It was a night sequence, it was very dark. Everyone was shocked as I actually managed to do it. I am pretty proud of myself today that I dealt with my demon which is the fear of water and I overcame it through this shoot. I am glad that Gopi put this sequence in the film because I have finally overcome my fear of water and now I can gladly swim in a pool if not in the sea."

Mardaani 2 focusses on the rise of violent crimes by juveniles in India and has definitely sparked a conversation on the threat it poses to young girls. Rani is reprising the role of the fearless and committed Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy in the film. She had delivered a knock-out performance in the superhit and hugely acclaimed prequel, Mardaani, in which she took on the kingpin of a child trafficking racket.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 2 will be Rani’s next release which is set to hit theatres on 13th December.

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty is known for his comic films like the Golmaal series and cop-drama films like Singham and Simmba has worked with several big stars in Bollywood. Among them, the actor has worked with Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn in more than one film.

Recently, while talking at a session at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Rohit Shetty spoke about the work pattern of Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. Rohit Shetty has directed Ajay Devgn in several films including the Golmaal and Singham franchise. He worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Chennai Express and Dilwale.

“Their working pattern is the same. Both are very hard working. I have never seen a day when Shah Rukh or Ranveer (Singh) or Ajay come on set and say that they are tired. You will see them sitting in one corner and rehearsing their lines. Where they are today is because of the sincerity towards their work, and because they never took for granted the notion that they are stars,” Rohit Shetty said while talking about the working style of Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan.

He further said, “I have done so many films with Ajay, but even today when he has a long scene or a dramatic scene or an emotional scene, you will see him rehearsing with my assistant director. The same goes with Shah Rukh.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rohit Shetty is currently directing his upcoming film Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.

She was probably the oldest debutante of Hindi cinema whose infectious energy and positive smile touched everyone. Pushpa Joshi, who was seen playing Saurabh Shukla's mother in Ajay Devgn starrer Raid, passed away on Tuesday. Her grandson Abhas Joshi earlier took to social media to tell us that she was put on life support.

Raid director Raj Kumar Gupta mourned the aged actor's death on Twitter. "Very sad to hear about the passing away of Pushpa Joshi ji. One of the highlights of my directing career was watching you perform in RAID. You were a live wire on and off the sets. Wherever you are you will be smiling and spreading happiness Dadi ji. We will miss you. RIP," he wrote.

Though a large section of the media lost interest in Lataji’s health the minute they realized she wasn’t going anywhere, her genuinely concerned fans keep inquiring about her health from people whom they think would have an answer.

The latest according to family sources is that Lataji is recovering fast. “The reason she’s still in hospital is, she needs to regain her stamina or doctors fear she may get an infection again. This is why she’s being kept under observation,” says a dependable source. Lataji now converses with close family members who are allowed to visit her. “She is still not allowed visitors, and she’s getting restless for this,” says a source close to the family.

At home the Mangeshkar family-member who is missing her the most is her pet canine Sabaa. “The rest of the family is waiting for her to return. But the dog is unable to understand where Didi has disappeared to,” says a family source.

The year 2020 will mark the return of Shilpa Shetty on the big screen. The actress has stayed away from the films for 13 years. After signing Sabir Khan's Nikamma, Shilpa Shetty has come on board to star in Priyadarshan's comic caper Hungama 2. Bollywood Hungama was first to break the news that the film will be led by Meezaan Jaffrey, Pranitha Subhash, and Shilpa Shetty.

 Hungama 2 won't be a continuation of the 2010 hit but it will be a fresh storyline. Shilpa Shetty will essay the role of a glamourous, career-oriented woman who somehow becomes a part of a hilarious misunderstanding. She loved the role and jumped on the opportunity.

Priyadarshan admits that it took him so many years to work with Shilpa Shetty but he is looking forward to it. The actress is paired opposite Paresh Rawal in this comic caper. They've named it Hungama 2 due to hilarious misunderstandings and confusion that arise which have the element of Hungama.

Hungama 2, directed by Priyadarshan, is reportedly looking for 2020 release.
