WWD Digital Forum to Look Into Fashion’s Future

After years of disruption, corporate reset and big-time market share moves, just what fashion will look like in even the near future remains pretty fuzzy. But at least the outline of what’s ahead is starting to become a little clearer and will be explored in depth at the WWD Digital Forum, set to be held Sept. 18 at Convene in downtown Manhattan. As both merchants and consumers settle into the digital world and start to live and breathe technology in a new way, new combinations are starting to crop up. At the summit, Anthony Marino, president of online consignment shop and thrift store ThredUp, will talk about powering the retail revolution. The company recently raised $175 million in funding and formally launched its Resale-as-a-Service platform, which Macy’s Inc. and J.C. Penney Co. Inc. are using to bring resale into their four walls. That kind of mash-up — part digital, part physical and part old, part new — is becoming more common and promises to be a potent combination. In the same vein, StockX is putting Wall Street together with Streetwear and Josh Luber, chief executive officer and cofounder, will be on hand to talk about how his stock market of things — especially hard-to-get kicks —
