Despite being a private, actor-entrepreneur Katrina Kaif has been giving glimpses of her life on social media and fans couldn’t stop gushing about getting to know more about the actress. On her work front, she has interesting year to look forward to, the actress has also been having some major brand endorsements in the pipeline. Kaif, who already shares a great working relationship with PepsiCo India, has decided to expand her association with the beverage brand by being the brand ambassador of their packaged drinking water brand Aquafina.

Readers would recall that Katrina Kaif has in the past endorsed beverage products like Slice. A source close to the actress revealed that after being the face of many iconic campaigns for the soft beverage brand Slice for 16 years, the actress decided to work towards strengthening her existing relationship with the brand PepsiCo India with Aquafina.

Talking about her association with the packaged drinking water brand, Katrina Kaif said, "Hydration has always been a key area of focus for me. I have been wanting to do something in the hydration space for some time now and I am delighted to get this opportunity with PepsiCo India to be the face of Aquafina," she said.

"Goes without saying, Slice will always remind us of Katrina who has been a wonderful face of the brand for over the last 16 years.  The campaigns that we have created together will go down in history and always remind the audiences as they remind them of the indulgences of mangoes. It is not a goodbye, but rather the beginning of a new journey as we continue our association with her by welcoming Katrina to our Aquafina family," said Anuj Goyal, associate director, Tropicana and Slice, PepsiCo India.

On the film front, Katrina Kaif was last seen in the horror comedy Phone Bhoot in which she played the role of a ghost for the first time. The actress currently has Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas with Vijay Sethupathi and the Salman Khan, Emraan Hashmi starrer Tiger 3 in the pipeline, among others.

Ever since the news of the popular TV actress Tunisha Sharma’s sudden demise broke out, various speculations and rumours started floating on the internet. Recently, the police interrogated Tunisha’s co-star and ex-boyfriend Sheezan Khan. While the police are yet to conclude the matter, serious allegations are made against Sheezan Khan. Amid this, his sisters, Shafaq Naaz and Falaq Naaz, have broken their silence and issued an official statement of their family on the matter.

“To everyone who's been trying to reach out to us for a statement on the case- please allow our family privacy in this grave situation. It's upsetting to see the members of the media constantly calling us and even standing below our apartment buildings,” they stated in her statement.

The Naaz sisters further added, “We have full faith in the Indian judiciary system, and Sheezan is cooperating with the Mumbai police through all the procedures. We will talk about this when the time is right, but for now, please allow us the privacy which our family deserves right now.”

Coming back to the latest development, as per a report by the news agency ANI, Shezaan told the police officials that he was disturbed by the Shraddha Walker case and that the atmosphere in the country that emerged after the gruesome murder had become such that he decided to end his relationship with Tunisha, citing them belonging to different communities.

Tunisha’s mother Vanita Sharma has filed a complaint against Khan alleging abetment to suicide. The actor was arrested on the day after Tunisha’s death on December 25. Reportedly, the two actors were in a relationship and they had broken up 15 days ago. It is said that the late actress was under stress and it is speculated that this drove her to the edge.

The late actress’s post-mortem has been done at JJ Hospital, and she will be cremated tomorrow, December 27.

In one of the tragic news, television actress Tunisha Sharma, who played Shehzaadi Mariam in Ali Baba Dastaan-E-Kabul, reportedly died on December 24 on the sets of the fantasy-themed show at Vasai in Maharashtra's Palghar district at the age of just 20. As per the police officials, the young actress was found hanging in the bathroom. Tunisha’s ex-boyfriend and Ali Baba Dastaan-e-Kabul co-actor Sheezan Khan was arrested after her mother filed an FIR against him alleging abetment to suicide. While the actor has been sent to four-day judicial custody by a Vasai court in Mumbai, he has claimed that after their break up, Tunisha had attempted suicide previously as well and he had saved her.

According to the news agency ANI, Shezaan told the police officials that he was disturbed by the Shraddha Walker case and that “the atmosphere in the country that emerged after the gruesome murder that he decided to end his relationship with Tunisha, citing them belonging to different communities.” Another reason was the age factor as she was 20 and he is 28. For the unversed, Shraddha Walker was brutally murdered by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala and cut her into pieces and threw her body parts in several parts of Delhi.

While speaking to the police, Sheezan Khan also alleged that Tunisha Sharma had previously attempted suicide. As per police sources, according to NDTV, he said, “Tunisha had recently tried to commit suicide a few days before her death, but at that time I saved her and told Tunisha's mother to take special care of her.”

Tunisha’s uncle Pawan Sharma, however, denied the claim. Speaking to NDTV, he said, “Both ate at the makeup room. No one knows what happened after that. We got a call asking us to come,” Pawan Sharma told NDTV. “Never, never. She never tried to commit suicide. She was under a lot of stress. That's why her mother was worried about her,” he added.

In a video message, as reported by the publication, Vanita alleged that Sheezan had promised that he would marry her daughter. She also claimed that he cheated on her. “Despite being involved with another woman, he continued a relationship with Tunisha. He used her for three-four months. I just want to say that Sheezan should be punished, he should not be spared. I have lost my child,” Vanita said.

As per a report in NDTV, the post-mortem was conducted at Mumbai's JJ Hospital early on Sunday morning. A team of 4-5 doctors were present for the autopsy. Her mortal remains were handed over to the family at 11 am on Sunday and the cremation was done in the afternoon. The police said that there were marks of injuries on her body. The report states that she “died due to asphyxiation.”

While the investigation is underway, a senior police official said in a statement on Saturday, “There is a Ramdev Studio in Naigaon where the shoot was on. Then there was a break between the shots when this actress went to the bathroom and then she hung herself there. People on the sets rushed her to the hospital where she was declared 'brought dead'. It is primary information. Our team is on the spot and they are investigating. We will take everyone's statement."

Waliv Police is questioning everyone who was present on the sets on Saturday. The actress reportedly did not leave any suicide note. Police will conduct the investigation from both murder and suicide angles. Both Tunisha Sharma and Sheezan Khan’s phones have been sent to forensics to see the chats and calls between them and what led to the incident.

Tunisha Sharma was also a child actress earlier. She played the role of the young Katrina Kaif in Fitoor.

Earlier this month, media portals were bussing with rumours of Jackie Shroff coming together with Anil Kapoor for a film after 24. In fact, speculation was rife that the two actors who have featured in thirteen films together, with the last being Priyadarshan’s Kabhi Na Kabhi in 1998, would not only excite the audience but would also be a pleasure to watch.

As per the reports, the said film would be produced by none other than Subhash Ghai and had been titled Chor Police. But when I touched base with Jackie he shared he had no knowledge of this project. Says Jackie, “This was news to me. Even I read about it, like everyone else. I asked Subhash Ghaiji and Anil about it. But no one responded.”

It looks like this was just one more proposal project where actors’ names are being leaked out prematurely, if not entirely erroneously.

Currently South vs Bollywood has become a topic of discussion in the entertainment industry. While a section of fans and critics explain that the South film industry serves better content, a bunch of celebs suggest that both industries can co-exist. Speaking of the same but with a different perspective, recently actress-turned-politician Jayasudha has also voiced her opinion. She criticises the Indian government while stating that Kangana Ranaut got Padma Shri within her ten films.

It all happened, when Jayasudha appeared in the talk show Unstoppable with NBK song with her contemporary Jaya Prada, hosted by Nandamuri Balakrishna on Aha. The actress-turned-politician argued that Bollywood actresses like Kangana Ranaut have been honoured with a Padma Shri after having worked in just 10 films. However, actors who have worked for many decades in the film industry have not been given any recognition for their work, especially actors in the South film industry.

“I'm okay with Kangana Ranaut getting Padma Shri. She is an amazing actress. Yet, she received that award within 10 films. Over here, we have worked on many films yet are not recognised by the government,” said Jayasudha on the show.

The veteran actress further added, “Even Vijaya Nirmala, the woman director who is on the Guinness Records, hasn't received such appreciation. Sometimes, I feel bad that the South is not being appreciated by the government.”

As she mentioned that they should not ask to be recognised but it should come from the government itself, actress Jayaprada added, “We should get it respectably and not by asking for it.”

Jayaprada went on to reveal that she “requested the Bharat Ratna for NTR” when she was an MP. And, she is trying to make them consider her appeal till now. The host agreed with Jayasudha and Jayaprada that South actors need to be recognised.

It is worth mentioning here that Kangana Ranaut, who is otherwise quite vocal on the topics that have her mention, has not responded to the remarks coming from the above-mentioned veteran actress.

Bollywood actress Kajol is very close to her younger sister Tanishaa and her mother Tanuja and this is known to everyone. All three are often spotted together at many events. Meanwhile, Kajol also keeps uploading pictures with his mother and sister on social media. Interestingly, the Mukerji sisters recently gifted a lavish refurbished home to their mother in Lonavala.

Tanishaa took to her verified social media handle and gave a peek at their joyful entry into the house. The video began with a few people standing near the gate of the house. It also featured a red ribbon tied near the gate.

After this Kajol, Tanishaa and Tanuja reached over there in a car with their pet dog and then all three were seen cutting the ribbon while sharing a hearty laugh.

Before entering the house, Tanuja removed her footwear and Kajol and Tanishaa followed her. After this, the veteran actress bent down and touched the floor of the house. Later, the sisters also did the same. As they looked around, Kajol hugged Tanishaa and clicked several pictures.

Instagramming the video, Tanishaa wrote a short caption, which read, “And so we finished moms house in lonavla and showed it to her after 8 months of keeping her awayyyyy!”

A section of her Insta fam took to the comments section of the post and congratulated them on their new house. “May this abode continue to bring amazing memories and lots and lots of good fortune,” wrote an Instagram user while another added, “A mother who has got 2 angels can't even imagine of more so nice.”

DCP Chandrakant Jadhav spoke to the media and said that the death is under investigation. “Tunisha Sharma, who was working on the sets of Alibaba Dastaan E Kabul has died by suicide. She hanged herself. Her mother has filed a complaint against Sheezan (Khan) for abetment to suicide. Sheezan worked with her in the show as Alibaba,” he said. There have also been reports that she was pregnant. “There is no report on this,” said the cop to the media, as per Times Of India.
