Margaret Qualley Embraces Chanel’s Dark Whimsy

Margaret Qualley brought a darker edge to Chanel’s whimsy for “The Dog Stars” premiere on Thursday at London’s Odeon Luxe Leicester Square. Designed by Matthieu Blazy — his first cruise collection since joining Chanel as the maison’s creative director in December 2024 — the dress paired rich texture with a streamlined silhouette. Qualley wore a black midi dress with a V-shaped neckline and short sleeves. Small circular motifs covered the fabric, arranged in strings and tassels that lent the look a textural edge. Though delicate, the dress had a distinctly dark and subdued effect. She also wore Chanel’s heel-cap “shoes” which were spotlighted in the 2027 cruise collection. Qualley’s look was curated by stylist Danielle Goldberg.
