Galia Lahav Opens First Asian Flagship on Shanghai Bund

SHANGHAI–Luxury bridal and fashion house Galia Lahav has opened a new flagship store here at the Bund Finance Center, its first store in China and the first globally to hold the Galia Lahav evening wear collection along with the brand’s two bridal collections: couture and gala. The new boutique is the Israeli brand’s fifth flagship location globally and its first location in Asia. The 1,000 square meter store cost $3 million to fit out and is one of the largest tenancies in the luxury BFC shopping center. The brand is the large and fast-burgeoning market which this year is expected to exceed $80 billion. According to the National Wedding Consumption and Development Summit, in the past five years, at least 13 million new couples get married annually in China. It also found that couples in China are willing to use 31 percent of their savings for their weddings and 88 percent of Chinese brides will wear four outfits for the occasion.
