Thank God starring Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra lands in trouble; MP Education Minister seeks ban for inappropriate depiction of Hindu gods

Days after the trailer release of Indra Kumar’s Thank God starring Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh, the film has landed in trouble. Madhya Pradesh Education Minister Madhya Pradesh Education Minister Vishvas Sarang has written a letter to the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, seeking a ban on the film. In his letter, the politician alleges that the film depicts Hindu gods inappropriately.

In his tweet on Tuesday, he said that the film makes fun of Lord Vishnu. "The constant ridicule of Hindu religion in Bollywood movies and OTT shows reflects anti-Hindu mentality," he wrote.

The Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting is yet to release a statement. Meanwhile, recently, it was reported that the trailer of the film has been banned in Kuwait as it was not passed by the Censor Board

Over a week ago, it was also reported that the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJJS) also was seeking a ban on the film for allegedly mocking the Hindu beliefs connected to Chitragupta and Yamraj.

A T-Series Films & Maruti International production, Thank God, which is directed by Indra Kumar, is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ashok Thakeria, Sunir Kheterpal, Deepak Mukut, Anand Pandit and Markand Adhikari and co-produced by Yash Shah. The film is all set to release this Diwali on October 25, 2022.
