Selena Gomez shined at the Chanel-sponsored Academy Women’s Luncheon on Dec. 10, and, in an ode to the brand, wore a head-to-toe look from the French fashion house. Indeed, no detail was amiss: Besides appearing in a Chanel tweed skirt suit, which Gomez’s stylist Erin Walsh artfully paired with black tights and Mary Jane platforms, the Rare Beauty founder also sported a bare manicure that had us obsessed from the moment we saw it. After careful digging, we’ve identified the iconic culprit. It’s Chanel’s Le Vernis polish, in the #111 Ballerina shade. Gomez has an all-star glam team behind her, including nail artist Tom Bachik who, in a recent Instagram post, revealed that the star’s manicure for the event was powered by the aforementioned Chanel hue. Given the fact that it’s both subtle and classic, the polish fit seamlessly with Gomez’s overall timeless, black-and-white outfit. Bachik also knew what he was doing when it came to manicure trends: After all, bare manis have had a colloquial chokehold on the public for some time now.Follow WWD on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook.
