Sofia Coppola, Elle Macpherson, and More at the La DoubleJ Cocktail Party

The New York holiday party circuit is in full force, and on Tuesday night, J.J. Martin added some Italian flair to the scene.  The La DoubleJ founder hosted a cocktail party with friends Laura Gonzalez and Mathilde Favier at Gonzalez’s Tribeca gallery to celebrate their respective coffee table books “Mamma Milano,” “Interiors,” and “Live Beautifully in Paris.” Guests included Sofia Coppola, Elle Macpherson, Sabine Getty, Leslie Fremar, Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl, Willa Fitzgerald, Helena Christensen, Carlos Mota, Fabiola Beracasa Beckman, Jane Keltner de Valle and Zani Gugelmann. Martin was dressed in one of her dresses, which she paired with tights — and a pair of slippers. “I was getting my hair and makeup done today, we had the best time talking about spirituality — at the end I’m giving them a crystal healing,” Martin said. “I put on the dress and they were like, ‘you look amazing. What shoes are you gonna wear?’ I’m like ‘these are the shoes!’”  The Milan-based American designer was in town for five days and was taking advantage of all her favorite “woo-woo” stops while in New York.  “I’ve been waking up at 6 a.m. and going to the new cold plunge and sauna place Othership. It’s amazing,” she said.
