Taking the structured style of dark glamour and giving the trend a contemporary spin is no small feat, but Angela Bassett pulled it off in spades, pairing her Falguni Shane Peacock design with a crystal skull clutch for the “American Horror Story: 13” celebration at New York City’s Hotel Chelsea on Wednesday night. The bodice of Bassett’s dress featured defined cups framed by oversize curved panels and other gravity-defying structural elements. The skirt of the dress was created with a slim-fitting silhouette and a layered midi hemline with flouncy black feathers that added texture to the overall monochrome look. The dark color scheme also extended to Bassett’s ankle-strap heels.
