Sequel to Yami Gautam’s A Thursday in the works?

Director Behzad Khambata’s A Thursday completes a year today. The film was released last year on this date on Disney+ Hotstar. It saw Yami Gautam play a gentle and loving nursery school teacher Naina Jaiswal. After going through the routine of lovingly teaching the students, one day, out of the blue, she takes 16 kids as hostages, which shocks everyone, including her husband Rohit (Karanvir Sharma). Naina puts forth certain demands, including a meet with India’s Prime Minister, played by Dimple Kapadia. Without giving away the spoilers, A Thursday turns out to be a film with a bold and timely social message that got appreciated by the OTT audience. On the film’s first anniversary, there is a buzz about a sequel to A Thursday being in the works. Although nobody associated with the film has confirmed the news, the rumours about the second film in the thriller with a social message are surely doing the rounds. Last month, Yami spoke about A Thursday during an interview where she said, “Through cinema which is such a powerful medium, if you get a chance, if you get a script which in its own way is engaging you as an audience and at the same time talking to you just almost like one to one then they stand out and for me. That’s what happened when I read A Thursday when it came to me and it became more than just a film; more than just a role and it was one of the heaviest films for me.” Produced by RSVP and Blue Monkey films, A Thursday also starred Neha Dhupia, Atul Kulkarni, Kalyanee Mulay and Boloram Das. Rakhi Sawant expresses gratitude towards her ‘bhai-behen’ lawyers for battling with her for the police custody of Adil Khan Durrani

After announcing her wedding with longtime boyfriend Adil Khan Durrani, Rakhi Sawant soon turned to the media yet again as she threw several allegations against her husband, including that of extra-marital affairs and physical assault. The case of Rakhi and Adil Durrani is currently in court and the latter was given judicial custody. In the latest turn of events, Adil has been ordered to be placed in police custody until February 20. Confirming the same, lawyers of Rakhi Sawant recently revealed about it to the media. Along with them, Sawant too spoke about the recent update, further expressing gratitude towards her lawyers for upholding justice and thanked them for helping her in her legal battle against Adil Khan Durrani. Speaking about it in her latest statement to the media, Rakhi said, “, “Rakhi Sawant ko nyay nahi mila hai, ek hindustan ki peedit mahila ko nyay mila hai. Pehli baar itehaas mein hua hai ki shaadi-suhagarat ke jagah suhagrat fir suhagrat hui hai. (Let me tell you that it is not Rakhi Sawant who got justice today but it is justice for all Indian women who are suffering from such atrocities. While generally the first night happens after marriage, in this case, it seems like it was the first night that happened first and then the marriage). She added, “Mera matlab ye hai ki pehle police custody milti hai fir judicial custody milti hai. Yaha toh aisa hua hai ki pahle judicial custody bhi mili aur ab police custody bhi mil gayi. Mein inn bhaiyo ko shurkiyada karti hoon aur inke pair padti hun jinhone bina kisi fayde ke meri madad ki. (In other words, what I meant was that, generally, you get police custody first and then judicial custody. However, in this case, we got the judicial custody first and now we have also got police custody. SCOOP: Shah Rukh Khan to shoot an EXCITING and MASSY chase sequence in the last schedule of Jawan

Shah Rukh Khan is on a high thanks to Pathaan. Its blockbuster success has raised hopes for his forthcoming film, Jawan. The film created a frenzy just on the basis of its first look teaser, which was launched way back in June last year. Moreover, it is directed by Atlee, who is known for making blockbuster, massy films down South. As a result, the expectations are immense from Jawan not just for the audiences but also trade and industry. Recently, it came to light that Jawan’s shooting will be over in a month’s time. According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, 130 days of filming have already been done and around 30 days of work are left. As per this article, Shah Rukh Khan will be shooting an intense chase sequence in Mumbai. Interestingly, he plays a double role and the chase sequence is between both the characters played by the superstar. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “While Pathaan was also an action film; the action in Jawan will be different. It’s mostly shot in real locations and blockbuster director Atlee has treated these sequences in his massy style, aided by action directors Sunil Rodrigues and ANL Arasu. It also fits well with the post-pandemic demands of seeing larger-than-life and fascinating stuff on the big screen. In that regard, Jawan is just the right film and will promise loads of entertainment to the viewers.” Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan also stars Priya Mani and Sanya Malhotra. Vijay Sethupathi, who recently debuted in the Hindi-speaking markets with the acclaimed web series Farzi, is reportedly playing the antagonist. Popular South music director Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music. Produced by SRK’s company Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan will be released on June 2, 2023, across five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. SCOOP: The real reason why Salman Khan is not doing Ravindra Kaushik Biopic Black Tiger

Salman Khan is among the biggest superstars of all time and every move of his makes it to the headline. During the pandemic time, Salman had confirmed in a media interaction that he was in talks for the official biopic of Indian Spy, Ravindra Kaushik with director Rajkumar Gupta. However, after that, things fizzled out. Now, a source close to Salman tells us the real reason why Bhaijaan is not doing the film. "Salman Khan is already doing a spy film in the Tiger Franchise which will be growing from strength to strength in the years to come by. He didn't want to do another spy film, which will lead to a comparison between the two characters. Interestingly, even the legendary Indian spy, Ravindra Kaushik had the code name Tiger, making things even more similar. Hence, after a series of discussions with his team, he let go off Black Tiger," a source told Bollywood Hungama. The rights to make the film were resting with director Rajkumar Gupta. "After confirming with Salman about his involvement in the project, Rajkumar Gupta didn't renew the rights. They eventually lapsed and were acquired by Anurag Basu. The film will now be made by Anurag Basu, who also has Salman at the back of his mind," the source further told us. What about conflict with Tiger? "Anurag Basu's vision for Ravindra Kaushik is very different from the Tiger franchise. However, he is still not 100 percent sure about the casting of Black Tiger. There is also a chance of him approaching a younger actor to play the lead role. We will have a clear picture on Black Tiger in one month."
