Sequins, Crystals and Shiny Embellishments Ruled the Red Carpet in 2023

Sparkles and sequin embellishments took the runways of Valentino, Jil Sander and Rick Owens by storm this year. Between the Oscars and the Met Gala, stars also took to the fad, breaking out their best glittering garments in shades of silver, orange and blue, to name a few. Among the A-listers who embraced shimmer and shine were Jessica Chastain, Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek, who set the trend for awards season. The actress’ Giorgio Armani frock featured lace from a gown that she wore in 2014 and 2018. She accessorized with Louis Vuitton cocktail rings and earrings in the shape of the brand’s signature monogram flower. Black leather pumps completed Blanchett’s look.
