Katie Holmes gave sleek suiting a modern spin in a custom GapStudio tuxedo designed by Gap Inc.’s executive vice president and creative director Zac Posen for the 2026 American Image Awards on Tuesday night in New York City. The “Dawson’s Creek” alum‘s look was a contemporary homage to the “Le Smoking” style tuxedo. Holmes’ look included a black double-weave and duchesse satin tuxedo jacket with structured, defined shoulder pads, sinuous glossy lapels and high-waisted slim pants. Holmes added a pair of pointed-toe mule heels to her look and incorporated a pop of color with her statement necklace. Posen was among the 2026 American Image Awards honorees, and was presented with the Designer of the Year award by Holmes. “There’s something incredibly special about dressing someone who has been part of your life for so long, especially on a night like this,” Posen said in a statement. “Having Katie here as I accept this honor makes it all the more meaningful.
