CFDA Teams Up With Forum, L.A. Retailer, for Rotating Retail Space

The Council of Fashion Designers of America is joining forces with Forum, a new Los Angeles-based experiential retail concept from b8ta, to provide CFDA members with innovative retail opportunities. The yearlong program is focused on a curated, rotating retail space that spotlights American creativity in fashion. The first designer is Nicholas K, the women’s ready-to-wear brand that emphasizes sustainability and is designed by siblings Christophe and Nicholas Kunz. They initiated the residency last Friday and their space will run through Jan. 31. Pamela Love, Billy Reid, Timo Weiland, and Trina Turk and Mr. Turk are among the designers set for a residency in 2020. The way it works is CFDA brands pay a nominal monthly fee for the space in Forum which goes towards advertising and marketing. The brands own their inventory and retain 100 percent of sales and can take back inventory in store at any time.
