Bernard Arnault Ranked World’s Second Leading ‘Brand Guardian’

PARIS — Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, has been ranked number two on consultancy Brand Finance’s Brand Guardianship Index for 2020. The listing, revealed Wednesday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, ranks the ceos of the world’s 100 biggest companies, aiming to reflect how they measure up as brand leaders and ambassadors, giving each a score between zero and 100. With a score of 72.1, Arnault falls closely behind aerospace firm Lockheed Martin’s Marillyn Hewson, with 72.2. From the luxury, apparel and beauty industries, Kering’s François-Henri Pinault is number 11 on the list, with a score of 60.6, followed by L’Oréal’s Jean-Paul Agon at 12, with a score of 60.4. The Estée Lauder Cos.’ Fabrizio Freda is number 17, and Chanel’s Alain Wertheimer at 24.
