Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi has proved to be one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film has earlier been rescheduled many times owing to the Covid-19 crisis and restrictions. Now, after a long time and multiple reschedules, it's official that Alia Bhatt starrer film is all set to release on theatres on February 25, 2022. The announcement for the same was made on Friday, January 28.

Now, after the announcement of its release date, the makers have also announced the date of its trailer launch on Wednesday. The trailer of the much-awaited biopic drama will be out on February 4, 2022 Friday. The makers announced the same on their official Instagram handle.

Taking to Instagram, Bhansali Productions shared a new poster of the film and along with it announced the trailer release date. Sharing the poster, they wrote, "a Rahi Hai Gangu ????Trailer out on 4th February #GangubaiKathiawadi in cinemas on 25th February, 2022".

The trade and some sections of the industry often request that two major films should not release on the same day. Yet, we have seen clashes taking place quite often and it’s something that will happen quite often in the coming few months. Thanks to the third wave of Covid-19, some states shut down cinemas while the rest opted for night curfew. As a result, not a single film was released in January. Things will begin to get better from next week with the release of Badhaai Do, on February 11. Last week, it was announced that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama, Gangubai Kathiawadi, would release in cinemas on February 25.

Since the few days, murmurs were going around in the trade and industry that Valimai, starring Ajith, would release in theatres on February 24. Earlier in the day, the official announcement was made by the makers. The actioner, co-produced by Boney Kapoor, would release not just in the original Tamil language but also in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. In short, it’s going to be the first big clash that we’ll get to witness in 2022.

A trade expert told Bollywood Hungama, “Valimai is essentially a Tamil film but it’s going to have a wide release in Hindi. The trailer is very promising and audiences would love to watch it on the big screen. Ajith has a sizeable fan following in Hindi markets. Moreover, Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01’s super-success is fresh in everyone’s minds. Hence, the trade is looking forward to the performance of Valimai’s Hindi version.”

The trade expert further said, “A lot of negativity emerged thanks to the clash of Sooryavanshi and Eternals on Diwali, and during the releases of Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01, Spider-Man: No Way Home and ’83. The exhibitors also suffered. We hope, PEN Marudhar, the studio backing Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Zee Studios, that has backed Valimai, are able to amicably divide shows amongst themselves.”

Gangubai Kathiawadi stars Alia Bhatt in the lead role and also features Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi in supporting roles, reportedly.

Valimai was supposed to release initially on January 13, 2022, but it was pushed forward after the Tamil Nadu government imposed restrictions and announced a Sunday lockdown. Bollywood Hungama, on December 31, 2021, was the first one to break the news that the 178-minute long Valimai has been passed with 15 cuts by the CBFC.

Meanwhile, before Gangubai Kathiawadi-Valimai clash, trade is also gearing up for another clash, albeit a minor one, on February 11. Ravi Teja’s Telugu film Khiladi will release alongside the Rajkummar Rao-Bhumi Pednekar starrer Badhaai Do in Hindi. As per sources in the exhibition sector, Khiladi is expected to have a good screen count in the Hindi markets.

The Vampire Diaries and The Originals star Joseph Morgan along with Franka Potente join the cast line-up, as series regular, for the upcoming fourth season of DC’s Titans on HBO Max, with Lisa Ambalavanar playing a recurring role in the show.

As per Variety, Joseph Morgan will play Sebastian Blood/ Brother Blood, an introverted man with a strong intelligence and a hidden, darker nature. Franka Potente (Claws) will play May Bennett/ Mother Mayhem, a natural leader who always carries the threat of violence with her. May is a predator in human form with an unfettered belief in her mission in the world.

Lisa Ambalavanar (The A List) will be seen in a recurring role of Jinx, a quick-witted criminal loner and a master of dark magic with a joy for manipulating others and creating chaos while doing it.

Titans was developed by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti and is overseen by showrunner Greg Walker. The TV drama from DC Comics is being produced by Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Executive producers for the show include Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, Greg Walker along with Sarah Schechter and Richard Hatem.

The airing details for the upcoming season have not been revealed yet. The series also includes Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Curran Walters, Conor Leslie, Minka Kelly and Alan Ritchson, among others.

With the drop in the number of Covid-19 cases, the government is slowly lifting restrictions in the country. Just yesterday the government removed the night curfew from Mumbai and allowed cinema halls and restaurants to function till 1:30 am in the night. Now, as the situation is slowly getting back to normal and cinema halls are getting operational in a full-fledged mood, various banners have been announcing the updated release date of their films.

After Sanjay Leela Bhansali and SS Rajamouli announced their revised release date of theire respective releases Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR, T-Series has announced the release date of the Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. As per the announcement the film is all set to hit the theatres on 20th May 2022. While the film was earlier slated to hit theatres on March 25, the makers of the film decided on opting to reschedule the film with the Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer RRR locked to hit screens on March 25.

As for the film, starring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has been directed by Anees Bazmee and written by Farhad Samji and Aakash Kaushik. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, and Krishan Kumar under the banner of T-Series and Cine 1 Studios, is scheduled to hit the screens on 20th May 2022.

American actor-presenter Whoopi Goldberg has been suspended by ABC’s The View after she made controversial comments about Jewish people and the Holocaust. The daytime panel show co-host will be off the program for two weeks after making controversial comments Monday about the Jewish people and the Holocaust in response to a local school board banning the graphic novel Maus.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, ABC News President Kim Godwin announced the decision in a note to staff Tuesday night. She said, “Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments. While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments. The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family and communities. These decisions are never easy, but necessary. Just last week I noted that the culture at ABC News is one that is driven, kind, inclusive, respectful, and transparent. Whoopi’s comments do not align with those values.”

Whoopi Goldberg apologized on the program earlier on Tuesday, in a segment that also included an interview with Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt. The controversy erupted on Monday’s show, when Goldberg said during a segment about Maus, “Let’s be truthful about it because Holocaust isn’t about race. It’s not about race. It’s not about race. It’s about man’s inhumanity to man.”

Co-host Ana Navarro responded to Goldberg, saying, “But it’s about white supremacists going after Jews."

Whoopi Goldberg made similar comments on CBS’ Late Show Monday evening, but also released an apology on her social media feeds, saying, “I’m sorry for the hurt that I have caused.”

Knowing them, they must have prepared themselves to a T. It is a very crucial schedule for the film and Salman-Kat will be filming for around 10-12 days in the national capital,” the source further reveals.

Amid the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic, several production houses have announced new release dates. Now, the awaited Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule is all set to release on 4th March 2022. The announcement was made on Wednesday.

The makers took to social media to shared new poster of Amitabh Bachchan along with the release date. "Iss toli se muqaabla karne ke liye raho taiyaar! Humari team aa rahi hai. #Jhund releasing on 4th March, 2022 in cinemas near you."
