Phillip Lim and Hennessy Host Annual Lunar New Year Dinner at Coqodaq

On Monday night, Phillip Lim and Hennessy hosted their annual Lunar New Year dinner at New York hot spot Coqodaq. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with red envelopes, pens and an invitation to add their wishes for Year of the Snake to the wishing tree. Midway through cocktail hour, the tree was already in full bloom, and “The Snake” — a special Hennessy cocktail created for the celebratory evening — was flowing throughout the room. Guests including director couple Lulu Wang and Barry Jenkins, Prabal Gurung, Laura Kim, Eva Chen, Peter Do, Tina Leung, chef Jordan Andino and more stopped by for the festive celebration. Lim held court in front of the room’s yellow Hennessy backdrop, which featured a display of the brand’s Lunar New Year special bottle edition, with artwork by Shuting Qiu. The dinner was originally scheduled to take place in Los Angeles this year, but pivoted back to New York in light of the city’s recent fires. “We’re still rebuilding and so we still have to celebrate community,” said Lim, snake cocktail in hand, adding that Hennessy made a donation to the LAFD in solidarity. Lim’s annual Lunar New Year dinner began as a “one time experiment” for Year of

Neutrogena Kickstarts 2025 With Tate McRae Ambassadorship

Merely weeks into Andrew Stanleick’s tenure at Kenvue, his vision for Neutrogena is coming into focus. Shortly after naming Dr. Muneeb Shah the brand’s global innovation partner late last year, the brand is padding out its roster of ambassadors with Tate McRae, who will front Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost franchise in a campaign. Stanleick, who assumed the role of president of skin health and beauty for North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Kenvue in November, said he’s been quick to bring the brand into its latest phase. “I’ve been in the job for eight weeks. I’ve gotten to look under the hood and the depth and breadth of the science, as well as the partnerships with doctors and health care professionals — there’s nothing like it, and it’s kind of the brand’s best kept secret,” said Stanleick, pointing to the fact that Kenvue has completed more than 188 clinicals in the division in the last year. In particular, Stanleick, who successfully harnessed the power of celebrity when he helmed Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian’s businesses at Coty Inc., felt it was time to bring in another ambassador to Neutrogena. “The Neutrogena campaigns have always caught my eye because of the top celebrity talent, which

AI in Retail: The Questions Every Retailer Should Ask Before Investing

Artificial intelligence, and now generative AI, has rapidly transformed the business landscape, particularly for retailers navigating changing consumer expectations, supply chain complexities, and operational inefficiencies. The global AI in retail market was valued at $7.14 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow at a staggering 31.8 percent compound annual growth rate, reaching $85.07 billion by 2032. However, the key to leveraging AI effectively isn’t simply adopting the technology — it’s about asking the right questions. As a partner at global professional services firm Forvis Mazars, I advise retailers to shift their focus from whether they should implement AI to how they can solve specific challenges using AI. With risks, investments, and ethical considerations to weigh, the right questions can determine the success of AI initiatives. Start With the Problem, Not the Technology One of the biggest mistakes retailers make is rushing to implement AI without a clear understanding of the problem they’re trying to solve. While it’s tempting to follow competitors into AI adoption, blindly applying the technology can lead to wasted resources and missed opportunities. Instead, retailers should ask themselves: What specific challenge are we trying to address? Can AI offer a solution that’s more efficient or effective than current methods? For example, a retailer

Amen! Beyoncé has finally announced she will be hitting the road on her “Cowboy Carter” tour, the first since releasing the album of the same name last March. The multihyphenated entrepreneur has been keeping busy since her 2023 “Renaissance” tour, releasing her last Ivy Park collaboration with Adidas on Oct. 12, 2023; two fragrances, Cé Noir in November 2023 and Cé Lumière in November 2024; a concert documentary film, which was available only in theaters, released on Dec. 1, 2023; her hair care line, Cécred, on Feb. 20; an award-winning whiskey brand SirDavis on Sept. 4, and a campaign with denim brand Levi’s, which launched on Sept. 29. So just for fun — see what we did there? — here’s a few looks from collections shown in 2024 after “Cowboy Carter”’s release that could pair well with the overall theme of each full-length track. (Writer’s note: Yes, I know the chance of an outfit change for each song is highly unlikely, but just saddle up and enjoy the ride.) What Should Beyoncé
