Two Dozen Companies Join Kering-Led Fashion Pact
PARIS – The Fashion Pact is gaining traction. Farfetch, Mango, Bally and El Corte Inglés are among 24 companies in the fashion and textile sector that have signed on to the environmental initiative spearheaded by French luxury group Kering, bringing the total number of signatories to 56 and the number of brands involved to around 250, Kering said on Friday. Representatives of the companies that signed the pledge met in Paris on Thursday for their first working meeting since the agreement was presented by Kering chairman and chief executive officer François-Henri Pinault at the Group of Seven summit hosted by France in Biarritz in August. Discussions focused on the governance of the Fashion Pact, organizing the work to be carried out by its members, and translating their commitments – which include eliminating single-use plastics, using renewable energy and promoting regenerative agriculture practices – into practical goals. The new members are Auchan Retail, Bally, Calzedonia Group, Celio, Darmartex Group, Decathlon, El Corte Inglés, Eralda, Etam Group, Farfetch, Figaret, Gant, Geox, Groupe Beaumanoir, Groupe Eram, GTS Group, Kiabi, Lady Lawyer Fashion Archive, Mango, Nana Judy, Paul & Joe, Promod, Spartoo-Andre and the Visuality Corporation. They join the likes of H&M, Inditex, Adidas, Nike, Capri Holdings, Gap, PVH,Follow WWD on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook.
