Keke Palmer Revives the Polka Dot Trend in Vintage Versace

Keke Palmer gave the polka dot trend a vintage edge in a 1990s Versace look for Friday’s “Spaceballs: The New One” panel at 2026 San Diego Comic-Con. She wore a cropped top with a plunging sweetheart neckline and long sleeves finished with flared cuffs with the black-and-white polka dot pattern. The polka dots didn’t stop at the sleeves. Palmer’s polka-dotted, high-waisted pants featured a slim-fitting silhouette that reinforced the 1990s edge of her look. Josh Gad, Rick Moranis and Keke Palmer. Defined by WWD’s Tonya Blazio-Licorish as a “perennial summer print,” polka dots have endured for decades, as a notable pattern, particularly in summer swimwear. More recently, stylists and their star clients have taken cues from the summer pattern and incorporated the pattern into occasion dressing and everyday looks. Maisie Williams, currently on the first leg of her “Practical Magic 2” press tour, was seen wearing a polka dot look from Marni’s fall 2026 ready-to-wear collection in New York on Saturday.
