Brigitte Macron Goes Red in Chanel Tweed Jacket for Notre Dame Visit
First lady of France Brigitte Macron arrived at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on Thursday, wearing a red Chanel jacket to meet with King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Macron wore a red military-style tweed jacket with four-leaf clover gold buttons from Chanel’s fall 2023 couture collection with slim-fitting black pants and glossy black boots from Louis Vuitton. Brigitte Macron WWD characterized Chanel’s fall 2023 couture collection as all about French girl style. Macron’s choice to wear Chanel was an intentional one — after the group visited Notre Dame Cathedral, Macron took King Charles and Queen Camilla to the Chanel offices, specifically the 19M Campus. King Charles’ state visit began on Wednesday. Macron greeted the king and queen of England wearing a navy skirt suit, with a jacket featuring nautical-inspired buttons in the shape of anchors. Charles’ state visit to France was originally planned for March but was postponed due to the riots in France over President Macron’s changes to France’s pension plan.
