Getting Ready for the Tony Awards With ‘Stereophonic’ Star Juliana Canfield in Thom Browne

The “Stereophonic” cast went into Sunday’s Tony Awards already riding a high with 13 nominations — the most any play has ever received. The night would prove to be quite successful for the show, as it would take home the Tony for Best Play. The show also won Best Direction of a Play, Best Featured Actor in a Play, Best Scenic Design of a Play and Best Sound Design of a Play. It was the first Tony for star Juliana Canfield, who previously was best known for playing Kendall Roy’s assistant Jess in “Succession.” For the night, Canfield worked with stylist Bailey Moon, makeup artist Sam Lau and hairstylist Akihisa Yamaguchi, and wore a custom black Thom Browne gown.  “I love the exaggerated hips and that sumptuous silk faille,” Canfield shared of her look. The dress featured peonies and vines that were “hand-made, placed and applied,” she added. For jewelry, Canfield wore “the most beautiful sparkles” from Fred Leighton. “I don’t have my ears pierced so there’s always a fun search for the perfect clip-ons.”  It was a full-circle moment glam-wise, as Yamaguchi and Lau also did Canfield’s hair and makeup for the opening night of “Stereophonic” “and have been with me for many
