Temperley London Taps Luca Donini as New CEO
LONDON — Temperley London has appointed Luca Donini as its new chief executive officer. Donini joins the British label from Guess Europe, where he was president and helped the business reach $1 billion in revenues over the last five years. He previously also held the position of president of worldwide business at Max Mara and is founder and chairman of an advisory boutique firm, Officina Lifestyle SA. He said he was drawn to the widespread reach Temperley has and sees an opportunity to grow it further. “Temperley represents one of the very few British lifestyle brands with an international appeal. It has great opportunity in this challenging momentum,” said Donini, adding that his aim is “to transform the business model to face market change” and increase profitability. Alice Temperley added that she wants to draw from Donini’s experience in building luxury brands to take her brand “to the next level.” The label, best known for its bohemian flair and glamorous evening dresses, skipped the London catwalk calendar last season and Temperley has previously said she is looking to offer smaller, more targeted collections with a greater focus on daywear.Follow WWD on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook.
