Common Comes to Bloomingdale’s
Common Love: Rapper, actor and activist Common believes in the power of love and Bloomingdale’s wants to share in the spirit. On Tuesday at 6 p.m., Common will be at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street to sign his new book, “Let Love Have the Last Word.” At the same time, the store will introduce a mini collection of men’s T-shirts and hoodies emblazoned with motivational phrases such as “All I See Is Victory” and “Beast Mode to Peace Mode” that Common sprinkles through his book. Bloomingdale’s will host three additional book signings for Common, at its North Michigan Avenue store in Chicago on May 18; the next day in its store in the Lenox Center in Atlanta, and in Los Angeles, in the Beverly Center store on June 15. The tie-in with Common reflects Bloomingdale’s track record of partnering with celebrities, movies, theater, art and pop culture, often manifesting in the store’s merchandising, marketing and windows. The Common T-shirts, priced $38, and hoodies, priced $65, are produced by Kid Dangerous.
