Camper Creative Director Steps Down
LONDON — Romain Kremer is stepping down from his position as Camper’s creative director, WWD has learned. The fall 2019 collection he designed for the Spanish footwear label — dropping in stores this September — will be his last. The company is yet to name a successor. Kremer has significantly contributed to the repositioning of the brand with his progressive approach to design. He established connections with a new audience, highly curated campaigns and the Camper Lab concept. “A new chapter now begins, and I am confident that the work undertaken has set the path for a successful future,” said the brand’s chief executive officer Miguel Fluxà Rosselló. Kremer has been associated with the company since 2009, designing capsules for its Camper Together collaborations. He then went on to consult on its main line and was appointed creative director in 2014. During his tenure, he engaged young, progressive designers like London-based Kiko Kostadinov and Eckhaus Latta to bring a younger, renewed energy into the brand. Prior to Camper, Kremer run his own label and worked as head designer of men’s wear at Mugler with Nicola Formichetti.Follow WWD on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook.
