Off-White Gets Into Fine Arts at Saks

Saks Fifth Avenue likes its exclusives. The luxury retailer has partnered with Virgil Alboh’s Off-White and its Fine Arts capsule collection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, sneakers, handbags and soft accessories, which is getting full exposure on saks.com and at the Saks flagship. The Fifth Avenue windows showcase the collection as well as an art-inspired visual installation designed for Saks by Off-White. Saks chief merchant Tracy Margolies and Abloh are hosting a private dinner tonight at L’Avenue at Saks to celebrate Saks’ exclusive launch of the collection. Priced from $130 to $1,585, the Fine Arts collection is inspired by architecture, music, painting, literature, sculpture and acting. Off-White was launched online in late 2013, held its first showroom presentation in Paris the next year with designs suggesting Bauhaus, sports apparel and Caravaggio, and has established a signature of thick diagonal stripes. The label belongs to New Guards Group in Milan. “Off-White brings a unique viewpoint and creativity to the fashion world. The brand challenged the status quo,” Margolies told WWD.
